Wow awesome about Tebow’s book Shaken, and would love to buy his Homeschooling book as well!

    • tawk2 says:

I own Shaken and love it! Hoping to get it signed on June 4th when I go to see Tim play.

Thanks ck, it is getting closer! Our daughter only 12 won the kids Western Maryland Blues Fest t shirt contest! Her design will be on all the Blues Fest kids t shirts sold! She will have an exhibition on June 1 with her design and t shirt for meet and greet and autographs! Then June 2 during opening ceremonies she will be recognized on stage! We are so proud of her! Then on June 4th off to see Tebow play the Suns!

          • ck says:

Congrats! Know you are very proud of your daughter and she must be quite an artist too!;D

Tim batting 8th playing LF tonight. Scheduled start 7:05 Eastern

  3. Danny says:

Tonight’s game has been postponed due to weather and is being.rescheduled at a later date.

    No game tonight.

  4. Sage says:

Not too late to get right on Ty Cobb. They likely did to him what they’ve been doing to Tebow.

    • TheMascotArmy says:

I saw that a while ago. Total injustice.

    • ck says:

Glad someone finally set the record straight…jealousy knows no bounds when it comes to others trying to manufacture lies just to keep someone from rising higher than themselves! Agreed Sage and here’s the proof!:/

  5. Danny says:

    Back to baseball tonight!

    Tim batting 8th playing LF.

  6. David says:

This blog is following the game well with video clips.

  7. Danny says:

Tim finishes 2-4 (2 singles), his fourth multi-hit game of the season. Tim’s batting average is up to .244, third on the team.

Tough night for the Fireflies as they fall to Lakewood 12-2.

No strikeouts tonight. Tim is showing more consistency as the season enters its second month.

I would like to see him swing for the fences more as some of the pitches I’ve seen on Gameday seem pretty hittable, especially for a man with his strength. It could be that his coaches really want him to work on recognizing pitches and make consistent solid contact rather than going for the fences all the time. This is a time for players to develop their game and focus on the fundamentals they need to master, whether its at the plate, baserunning, or fielding. Tebow is no exception. So I will be patient.

It’s great to be talking about Tim nearly every day as he plays most days of the week and always fresh things to discuss.

    • Danny says:

Thanks for the in-game updates David, sometimes real time video is hard to find so it’s really appreciated out here when they’re posted.

    • David says:

Thanks Danny for the great wrap up. I’m going to nominate the opposing pitcher for the smart play of the season when he didn’t step into Tebow’s path on the way to first. 🙂 He will live to play another game.
Tim is hitting to all fields and that is probably more impressive than the occasional HR. And the Mets may be slow walking him so they don’t lose him to another team in need.

    • ck says:

Great coverage, David & Danny! Thanks for all the updates and know I can count on you guys for info.;D

  8. TheMascotArmy says:

    Thanks again guys.

  9. Danny says:

A day in the life of baseball player Tim Tebow, plus a visit from Sandy Alderson earlier this week as he and Jose Leger discussed Tebow’s progress.

    • Brandi says:

Sandy Aldrson flew down to South Carolina from New York to see if Tim Tebow is ready to be moved up. But hey. This is just a “Publicity Stunt.” 🙂

    • Danny says:

As GM, Sandy Alderson would be pretty busy, especially during the season. Having him visit like that is a pretty big deal.

The timetable is flexible but certainly advancement is on Alderson’s radar.

      • Brandi says:

I can’t think of one bad thing to say about how the entire Mets Organization from the Wilpons to Sandy Alderson all the way down to everybody in Columbia have handled everything. The Mets promised to give Tim all the help in development and flexibility in adjusting to his schedule of his Non-Baseball Commitments they could. And they’ve done all that PLUS kicked Media and anyone else trying to sully Tim’s reputation of credibility as he does this.

Jets-Mets. Amazing what a difference one little letter change can make. 🙂

    • ck says:

They are clearly supporting him and happy about that especially when Sanday Alderson states: “I think he’s exceeded a lot of people’s expectations.”
They had everybody buying Tebow’s stuff at Hickory too plus “sold out” all games there and on the road…AMAZING! Tebow’s statement says it all: “I love what I’m doing and I’m excited about this day and that’s a good feeling.”
      Thanks, Danny for the link.

  10. Danny says:

Tim batting 7th in the order playing LF tonight.

    Game time 7:05 Eastern.

  11. Sage says:

No hitter? The Fireflies bats can sure disappear.

  12. Danny says:

In a pitchers duel tonight, Lakewood defeated Columbia 1-0 on a no hitter. It was the second no hitter in the South Atlantic League this season (Dominic Mazza’s perfect game was the other).

Most of you will recall that it was Mazza that gave up Tim’s first homer.

Tim went 0-3 today with 2 strikeouts. Only 3 Fireflies got on base, that was with walks.

Only two balls hit to Tebow in left field all night, both flyouts.

As Sage said, the Fireflies’ bats disappeared tonight. Lakewood wasn’t that much better with 4 hits all night, but enough to win.

  13. Danny says:

A GREAT day for baseball in Columbia, SC!

Tim batting 7th playing DH today.

  14. David says:

A view of Spirit Communications Park from inside the First Base Building.

  15. Danny says:

Tim goes 1-2 today with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. His batting average is now at .242.

Tim’s last walk was the first of four straight walks issued by the pitcher which led Tim to score his second run.

Despite a 8th inning rally by Columbia, they fall to Lakewood 10-7 today.

    • ck says:

      Hope they win the next one. Fireflies Sched.: Mon. 5/8 @ 7:05 p.m.; Tues. Off; Wed. 5/10 @ 7:05 p.m.; Thurs. 5/11 @ 6:05 p.m. (2 games?); Fri. 5/12 @ 7:05 p.m.;
      Sat. 5/13 @ 4:05 p.m.; Sun. 5/14 @ 1:05 p.m.; Mon. 5/15 @ 6:35 p.m.

  16. David says:

Tebow was 1 for 4 tonight. He had a strike out swinging, ground out to SS, single to left field, scored once, grounded out to SS.
Pitcher Humphries leads the league with 6 wins 0 losses. He allowed only 4 hits tonight with 9 Ks and won 5-1.
Some video clips of Humphries’ pitching.

  17. David says:

Tebow’s scores from 2nd on this bad throw. Pitcher was trying for the force out at 3rd.

  18. Danny says:

Tim just continues to grind out hits and runs.

He’s in the top 5 on the team in these categories:

    3rd in BA – .242
    3rd in Total Bases – 34
    Tied for 5th in doubles – 3
    4th in base hits – 23
    2nd in Slugging Percentage – .358
    5th in OBP – .327
One of five players on the team with a triple
    2nd in OPS – .685
Tied for 2nd in Home Runs – 2
    4th in total runs – 15

Also, one thing that can’t be ignored, Tim signed a extension with ESPN today, despite the huge layoffs at ESPN lately. I found that interesting as they shed a lot of on air talent, not only did Tim stay on, but got a multi year extension with the provision that he still gets to play baseball. Imagine that.

David, thanks for the in-games updates and the wrapup!

  19. David says:

The Columbia newspaper, The State, has amassed 448 stories and videos about Tim Tebow. We’ve probably missed some good ones.
