Might as well continue the conversation here.
Does anybody know if baseball tracks pitches per at bat? Seems that would be useful considering SPs only like to go maybe 120 pitches.

Tim Tebow “ALL STAR” in the batter’s box…Fireflies leading.

Tebow Ignites Second Inning Rally, Fireflies Roll to 8-2 Win

Tim Tebow had a double, RBI and run scored in the 2nd inning which started a 5 run second inning for the Fireflies. The Fireflies never looked back and romped to a 8-2 win Tuesday night.

In the 2nd inning, Desmond Lindsay started the inning off with a walk. Tebow comes to bat and blisters a drive down the left field line for a double, scoring Lindsay from first. Milton Ramos comes to bat and on the first pitch hits a double which easily scores Tebow.

Tim now has 7 doubles, 15 RBI’s and 21 runs scored this season.

Tim finished the night 1-4 with a double, a couple of groundouts and a flyout to center.

As I was listening to tonight’s game, they said that one of Tebow’s flyouts last night was to deep center field and almost a home run.

Also with David’s observation above from last night’s game with Tim working a 9 pitch at bat before striking out indicated he ended up with a solid performance at the plate, even though it didn’t show up in the stats.

Thanks everybody! Good night for Tebow and his teammates.

  7. Danny says:

Tim batting 8th playing LF tonight. Game time 7:05 Eastern.

    Go Fireflies!

  8. David says:

1st at bat-Single with extra base on a throwing error

  9. Danny says:

Tim is making things happen again.

Tonight in the second inning, Tim hit a chopper to the third baseman. The respect for Tim’s speed caused the third baseman to rush his throw, causing an error. Tim went to second on the overthrow. The official scorer scored this one a hit and then went to second on the error.

The next batter put the ball in play on the right side, moving Tim to third.

Then Gene Cone hit a single which drove in Tim.

Good smart base running, taking advantage of the opportunities he had and helped the Fireflies out tonight.

Tim goes 1-4 with his second straight game with a hit and scored his 22nd run of the season.

Fireflies win this game 4-3. The little things ended up Tim scoring a run which made all the difference tonight.

You can see David’s links above for video of Tim’s hit and run scored.
