Thanks, Buzzy, for finding this. And they are right, “spectacular”!

  2. Danny says:

Four game set beginning tonight at Hagerstown.

Tim batting 8th tonight playing LF.

Article from the Hagerstown news site:

    http://www.heraldmailmedia.com/news/local/big-suns-turnout-expected-as-tebow-comes-to-town/article_b86422be-a30c-52c7-ac57-25d16f8cf209.html

Averaging 911 fans a game, they are expecting sellouts for their entire homestand, including our very own tawk2!

Big night for @TimTebow in Hagerstown. Already 2-2 with a run scored. 2 put outs in LF

2nd at bat in 5th inning-Single, grounder to right field LOB AVG .227

Tim Tebow singles in his second at-bat tonight, 2nd multi-hit game in past week. Avg now at .227 #MiLB

  4. ck says:

Hope they win tomorrow night! Game @ 7:05 p.m. Countdown to tawk2 going to game on Sunday! Looks like it will be good weather-wise w/only 20% chance.;D

  5. Danny says:

Tim had a pretty decent night a 3-2 loss to Hagerstown tonight.

Tim led off the third inning with a single. Desmond Lindsay was up next and hit a HR which drove Tim home for his 23rd run of the season.

Tim also had another single in his next at bat. Tonight he finishes 2-3.

This is Tim’s 8th multi hit game this season, 6 of them 2 hit games. He currently has a three game hitting streak. During his streak he has gone 4-11 for a .364 average.

Tebow was also active in the field, registering three putouts.

This was certainly a treat for the Hagerstown fans who mostly came to see Tebow play. Since the Suns won tonight, the fans got a double treat as their team won and Tebow had a good night.

The attendance was 6,217 tonight, well above the 911 average this season and with the expected great weather this weekend expect the large crowds to continue to pour in through the rest of the series.

    • David says:

Something for everyone. Thanks, Danny. 5300 extra people. Wow! Tawk2 must have brought her friends.

      • ck says:

Believe you are right, David, and lots of them at that…lol!

      • tawk2 says:

Thanks David for all the great info! We had our daughter’s Jasmine, her reception for winning Blues Fest Kids T shirt contest was at the museum last night. Tonight Jasmine goes on stage to be recognized for winning. We are so excited about Sunday’s game and getting to see Tebow!

Tebow sold out the stadium here, ticket sales have been bad for years now, Tim comes to town and stadium is sold out! I hear parking was a nightmare, will have to get there extra early, we already picked up our VIP tickets a few weeks ago. If I am lucky enough to talk to Tim I will tell him about this site and all the amazing people who support him and each other each day! Thanks again to all here, so glad I found this amazing, caring site!

        • David says:

Amazing. I hope you and your family have a great time, tawk2.

        • ck says:

Congrats! Know you are proud of your daughter and so talented also. Happy you are going to see Tebow and that IS exciting! He inspires lots of people everywhere he goes and the crowds are incredible! Will be there in spirit and listening at least on Sun. God willing. Take care and everything that you stated goes double for you, Tawk2!;D

    • ck says:

Now, that’s great news! Thanks, Danny. Knew they were going to be “sold out” and your stats proved it!!;)

    • Brandi says:

If Hagerstown Attendance numbers hold the rest of the year, about 40% of all sales would have come from these 4 Games. That’s astounding.

    • ck says:

Great read and nothing but positives about Tebow…PHENOMENAL “HERO” FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS!!! Appreciate the link, Danny.

  6. Danny says:

Tim batting 8th playing DH tonight. Game time 7:05 Eastern.

Tim bids to extend his hitting streak to 4 games which would tie his best streak this season.

  7. ck says:

Listening to the game and looks like they are going to win this one too!
COL 7-4 in the bottom of the ninth. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  8. ck says:

    Zanghi delivered and three outs!!!!

    • ck says:

      Win for Fireflies w/Tebow!!!! (8-7)

      • David says:

Great game. Brosher hits the winning HR in the 10th inning. Lindsay with 3 hits including a HR and Paez with 2 doubles.
Tim had a rough night going 0 for 5, striking out 4 times and flying out to left. This was a clutch win for the team.

        • ck says:

Read that he was chosen, again, to be the DH and shows they have confidence in his ability to hit it out of the park. Bet tomorrow he does just that and believe the game is at 6:05 p.m. (Sure Tawk2 is counting down the days until Sun.) Thanks for a great analysis, David.

  9. Danny says:

Tim batting 8th playing LF tonight. Game time an hour earlier than normal, 6:05 Eastern.

    Go Fireflies!

  10. tawk2 says:

Question, how can I post pictures here if I am lucky enough to get pics with Tebow?

    • David says:

I don’t think you can post a picture here. You could use Google Drive and put the photos in a folder, then share the link to the folder here. You can also share links from Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, or Instagram. Twitter is one of the quickest ways to share video.
Google Photos is on your android phone and can share photos using a link to an album. Once you post a link here, anyone can view it. You could probably disable the link later by moving the photos to another folder and deleting the album. Go to the Assistant in Google Photos to start.

  11. David says:

Tebow leads off the 6th inning with a single to right field. LOB 1 of 3 tonight. 3-0 Fireflies.

Thanks Danny and appreciate all you and David do very much so!;D

    • ck says:

Like the statement: “Every time Tebow gets up to plate, he gets a full cell phone salute” and cheers! Jack William from University of Washington wrote: “I live way over in the NW and Tebow is my all time “Sports Hero” and I’m 65. I’ve followed him since 2007 in college football. He is the model every kid should live up to.” Agree!

  13. tawk2 says:

Heading out to game now, so excited! I am getting a card on the way and puttin g from all of us, I have several names to add and if I miss you I am sorry, but I am also saying from many more at tebowzone.net. Hopefully I can get it to him and a pic and autograph! It’s Tebow Time! Wish you all could be with me!

    • Danny says:

Enjoy the day tawk2! It will be fun being around 6000 or so Tebow fans today!

In game updates are expected LOL! Not really, but if you have time…

Hope you get a up close and personal time with Tim today.

    • ck says:

Hi Tawk2! Thanks for putting in a word for Tebowzone and wish you all the best too! Praying you get your chance w/Tebow too! God bless you and your family!
Will have a memorable time and will never forget having a Tebow moment that is for sure! Congrats, again, to your daughter also…so talented!

  17. Danny says:

Tebow With 2 Walks, RBI, Fireflies Win 5-3

Today at Hagerstown, Tebow walked twice including a bases loaded walk in the 8th inning that scored the final run for Columbia, capping off a 5-3 win in the final game of the series. This was Tim’s 16th RBI of the year.

In what must have surprised the baseball universe Tebow bunted the baseball in his first at bat and nearly beat the throw to first. My guess is that this is something new the Fireflies are having Tim work on.

His second at bat was a strikeout, but made contact with every strike including the strike three foul tip. Good at bat.

His next two at bats were walks, the first one he ended up on third before getting stranded there, and the next one a bases loaded walk to drive in a run.

Tebow finished today 0-2 with two walks, an RBI and a strikeout.

Total attendance at Hagerstown for the four game series was 22,578, well above Hagerstown’s average attendance this year.

Travel day for the Fireflies tonight/tomorrow as they head back home for a three game series starting Tuesday night vs. Lexington.

    • David says:

That’s a great summary, Danny. I like the last at bat with the bases loaded. Tim took a ball, then fouled 2 pitches to the left to make it
1-2. So, the pitcher is thinking that he can get Tebow to reach for anything at this point. But, with 2 strikes, Tebow showed restraint and did not swing, and correctly judged the next 3 balls to walk a run in and make it 5-3. The next batter struck out on 3 pitches and left 3 on base.
Another great game and a win.

    • Danny says:

In the old adage “A walk is as good as a hit”, especially with the bases loaded, Tim showed good patience at the plate.

It’s easy to be thinking “grand slam” in that scenario and mistakes will happen if batters start chasing marginal pitches to make something happen.

Tim did well in that at bat and added an RBI to his stats and also an insurance run for Columbia.

  18. Shirley says:

Thank you so much for the in depth and excellent analysis!

  19. Danny says:

An interesting speculation I ran across Twitter today –

Yoenis Cespedes has been injured much of the season and most recently has been rehabbing in Port St. Lucie. The Mets thought he might be ready to return to DH against the Rangers in Texas for a two game series beginning June 7. The speculation was should Tebow gets called up to DH for a couple of games if Cespedes isn’t going to be ready?

I’m not sure in the whole scheme of things with bringing a player up and then sending him down how that impacts the club. I’m guessing Brandi would have a better handle on the business side of baseball how that would impact Tebow and the Mets longer term.

If anyone can handle that type of callup, Tebow can. An interesting thought nevertheless.

Brandi, you’re more than welcome to weigh in here.

    • ck says:

He could add that to his already impressive resume…hmmm.

    • Brandi says:

The Mets have to put Tebow on the 40-Man Roster. I’m not sure if they have an easy spot to give up. Minor League Players have what are called Option Years. This is all part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the MLB Players Association. So the process is pretty technical. But effectively Players have 3 years of “Options”. Once a Team calls a Player up one of those Options is used. But they last the entire year. So once you’ve burned one it’s burned. You might as well bring the Player up as often as you need him as there is no limit on how many times in a year a Minor League Player can be moved up and down.

But the kicker is the 40-Man Roster.

Baseball, unlike the NFL, has a couple Drafts. The Regular Draft that gets written up about. And the Rule 5 Draft. The Rule 5 Draft exists specifically to prevent Teams from stocking players up in their Minor League System when another Team would be willing to move them up to the Major Leagues. There are a few exemptions, eligibility periods, etc. But in general, a Player who is NOT on a Team’s 40-Man Roster can be drafted by another Team. (That Draft takes place in December, btw) That drafting team MUST keep that Player on their 25-Man Active Roster the ENTIRE following Season. So they can’t just steam Players.

I’ll check more details. But as far as I know, the Mets risk losing Tebow in December of they don’t put him on the 40-Man Roster before then. They only have a 1-year deal. So it’d be hard to do that without signing him to a whole new contract. Something a couple New York Mets Beatwriters have already suggested the Mets do sooner rather than later and lock him into a full 6-year contract that covers the whole period known as “Team Control” of a Player.

If the Mets move Tim up, they have to put him on the 40-Man Roster. If they then send him back down they have to leave him on that Roster or risk another Team picking him up. ANY Team can do that for $50,000 at that point. (Like I said, it gets technical & I’ve only covered a small portion)

But unlike the NFL, most of the way Baseball is set up, it forces Teams to use a Player or risk losing him. A Popular Player is obviously at even more risk of being lost. And Tim is a Player alot of Teams wanted even before they knew for sure he could hang in there against competition. He’s shown that not only can he do that. But that he’s improving in important ways very quickly.

Once he starts hitting the ball in the air more, the Mets will be forced to make a move or watch other Teams lining up to try to take him from them. And though they can’t do it immediately, they can force the issue and make the Mets either deal or deal with signing Tim long-term.

      • TheMascotArmy says:

        Great info, keep it coming!

      • Danny says:

Thanks Brandi for breaking down some of the more complicated rules and making them easy to understand.

I’m sure the Mets have looked at all the possible angles to maximize their investment in Tim. Sandy Alderson and the Wilpons believe in him and that’s been the factor that was missing in Tim’s NFL career. I’m sure that plays a lot into Tim’s desire to be with the Mets organization.

Hi all, sorry I have not been on, I got a real bad sunburn, I forgot I was not supposed to be in the sun for long period of time. I finished my antibiotic day before and thought it was out of my system.

Anyways, I did get Tebow’s autograph on my book Shaken, got to speak to him as well. I was also able to personally hand him the card, with this site and as many names as I could fit from here. I told him about my son passing in Dec and that my hubby had bought his book for me, and that it had helped me many times through the heartache and tears. He was very kind. I stood at the fence and watched him and fellow team mates warm-up before game, there was a big group of us hoping for him to just come near us. After warm-ups Tebow walked straight to me! I was the first one at that time that he came too, the group was so happy for me. I knew my Josh in Heaven brought Tebow to me. Tebow was also reaching to sign my jersey on my arm but another women butted in and took his attention. I was not upset, I had gotten not only an autograph, but got to speak to Tim personally and also to present him with a special card from all of us.

One of the fans who did not get an autograph, was not upset he was so glad that Tebow had gotten time with me. The man then asked me what I thought Tebow thought of all the fans there for him, and I said Tebow would want us all to be there for the whole team, not just him. The man said I know you are right.

After I went back to my hubby and daughter still shaking with excitement and happiness that I was one of the lucky ones that day, to have met my hero. Tebow touched my heart deeply and I know my son Josh was watching from above.

I have many pics of game, some closeups of Tim, none with me, I was so excited during our chat I forgot to ask for a picture together. My

I’m sure it exceeded all expectations. So glad you had that experience and thanks for sharing with us.

And Tim did OK too, drove in the last run of the game for the Fireflies on the bases loaded walk. A couple of accounts said that particular at bat was impressive as he laid off some pretty close pitches.

Glad you’re back on the board!
