Tim batting 8th today playing left field vs. Peoria. Game time 2:35pm eastern time.

  2. Danny says:

Tim finishes the day 1-4. His hit was a double in the 7th inning which ignited a 5 run rally for Scottsdale.

Batting average rising, now sitting at .190.

Side note: instead of his normal left field position, he was playing right field today.

It looks like Tim’s team won their division. There is a championship game between them and the other division winner on Saturday (I think). It is being televised on MLB network. Does anyone know if Tim will be playing or is he still going to do SEC network as he has been during the season.

  5. Danny says:

Tim batting 8th playing right field today. Game time 8:35pm Eastern.

    Last day of AFL!

Lineups aren’t out yet. Assuming Tim is playing today, it’s Scottsdale vs Mesa at 2:35 Eastern.

    GREAT NEWS! GO TEBOW!

  9. Bubbaelvis says:

My mistake. I said that Tim’s team was in Saturday’s championship game but I was wrong. I was looking at last year’s final standings. This year it is Surprise and Mesa in the championship game.
I can’t wait to see where they send Tim next. He seems to be getting into the groove and getting more comfortable at the plate. The home runs will come soon enough. I think he is growing at a fast pace and the Mets are pleased with his progress so far. Still has a ways to go but getting there quickly.

    • Brandi says:

The Home Runs are big. And they SHOULD come with greater comfort at the Plate and Tim’s feeling more ease at taking bigger hacks at the Ball. Even the Anonymous Scouts are admitting he’s been hitting the Ball harder.

But Home Runs are key. If/When those come two things happen. First, his appeal at the Major League level leaps up. His Batting Average no longer gets picked to pieces and examined so closely. But it’s the second thing that’s so huge.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has the League under a mission to significantly boost revenues and deals and spread Baseball. MLB has been on a serious International kick since 1999. They have Baseball positioned Globally in ways the NFL could only drool over. But they haven’t converted that into big Revenue streams. They will. And this is where Tim fits in.

As a Major League Baseball Player Tim becomes an instant Global appeal. BUT as an MLB Player who is knocking Baseballs out of Ballparks? He becomes an instant Legend. In Tim Tebow Baseball has the potential of a Player whose combination of Athletic feats and universal popularity that far transcends the Game itself that hasn’t been seen since babe Ruth. No matter what the snarky Detractors want to say, Tim is seen as America’s Golden Boy, America’s Good Guy…maybe its last Good Guy.

This isn’t just something the Detractors hate and keep trying to play down, it’s something that was warned against before he was Drafted in the NFL. There is a certain social/political niche that is absolutely terrified of the idea of Tim Tebow Cultural Phenomenon. And has been since he was in College.

But America absolutely NEEDS that Tim Tebow Cultural Phenomenon to happen because we are at the front edge of the Era of greatest global Competition in History. He’s not just Great for Sports. He’s Good for America. Even if some hate that fact.

TIM TEBOW VASTLY IMPROVES OVER AFL SEASON

Although this isn’t a headline you will see in an internet search, an objective analysis will come to this obvious conclusion.

The Arizona Fall League is made up of hand picked top prospects that play mostly in AAA or AA ball, with a handful of players on the 40 man MLB roster. Some are major leaguers on rehab if they’ve had extensive time away due to injury or other reasons. In short, the talent base of the AFL is pretty strong.

It’s been said that AAA isn’t that much different than Major League. The biggest difference is not necessarily ability, but to consistently play at the top of their game. With that said Tebow was up against some good baseball players.

Tebow struggled at first, going 0-12 in his first at bats. Only the very optimistic were expecting him to bang out home runs every other at bat going in.

Tebow has put a lot of work in. Early each day he was working with the hitting coaches and taking a lot of practice at-bats. Some of his teammates were razzing him a bit because Tebow’s hands were raw from all the practice.

As the season went on, Tebow’s batting average slowly crept up. The encouraging thing that I saw throughout the season is that he chased very few balls outside the strike zone. There’s a statistic called the “chase rate” which calculates this very stat. The major league leader last year was somewhere around 17%. I don’t have an exact stat for Tebow, but I bet it was very low from a sampling of observations I made.

Tebow’s average over the last 30 or so at bats was just shy of .300. If his season was broken down between the first 1/3 and the last 1/3 people would have seen a lot of difference.

All in all I believe Tebow showed the Mets (and Sandy Alderson seems to agree in various news accounts) that Tebow has improved quite a bit.

Tebow will get better as he gets more at-bats and continues to play in high competitive ball.

Where will Tim be next year? Given that his numbers improved a lot over the final third of the AFL season and that he was up against some elite minor leaguers, I would think that he will start the 2017 season in AA ball. The talent level will vary quite a bit in AA and I believe Tebow will do well. Depending on how Tebow does and how aggressive that Alderson wants to push the gas pedal on Tebow’s career, we may see Tim in AAA before the 2017 season concludes. We may see Tebow in the AFL again next fall as a much better player than he is now.

  11. Brandi says:

FWIW: According to Forbes Sports Money, the final numbers for ESPN’s Monday Night Football this week came in at a 4.0 Ratings. Last year’s Week 11 was 8.9. A drop of over 50%

Seems that boycott isn’t ending anytime soon.

    • Danny says:

My boycott on the NFL continues. It’s nice to have Sundays to do other things now.

      • TheMascotArmy says:

I completely agree. I was 80% boycotting after realizing how dimwitted, malicious, and sjw-prone the NFL was after their blacklisting of Tebow. That it was extremely boring sans Tebow knocked it up to 90%. Kaepernick brought it up to 100%, and loving my free Sundays and Monday nights has me never returning.

      • ck says:

Totally agree Danny and TMA…think they r due for an adjustment and hope they get the message w/that rating, lol!

TT OLD BCBS BUDDY LOSES ANOTHER FOR THE BUMBLING VIKES..THERE IS NO OTHER EXAMPLE IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS WHEREBY TEAM’S BOYCOTT THE BIGGEST STAR AND SETTLE FOR BEING LOSERS..AND GIVE UP A NUMBER ONE

    • Brandi says:

There actually is only one in modern sports history. And it’s very telling.

During the Cold War, there were Athletes from behind the Iron Curtain who were marginalized, humiliated and manipulated into obscurity by the Governments of the Countries they competed for because they were so wildly popular with the Masses and didn’t fit the profile of the true believer those Govts. wanted.

Other than that, no Athlete in any Free Society has EVER been treated the way Tim Tebow was treated by the NFL just because his popularity somehow made them uncomfortable. So the NFL has chosen its company. Let’s see if they can survive it.

      • Brandi says:

I’m going to toss out one other. On this one there’s not enough evidence to say he was treated as badly as popular Iron Curtain Athletes who didn’t completely tow the party’s desired image. But there’s enough to point him out.

Luz Long who was the hero of Nazi Germany who befriended Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and continued to be his friend until he was killed in World War II. (Owens was Best Man at Luz’s Son’s Wedding.)

After publicly befriending Owens, Luz’s treatment by the Nazis was pretty close to trying to manipulate him of the Athletic Fields.

Again, the NFL has chosen the kind of Company it keeps.

Is Buzzy on vacation? Just wondering…

  20. Brandi says:

This may be off topic but I’ve been trying to get a grip on what Colin Kaepernick thinks he’s doing by getting into fights with the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero over Fidel Castro. They were at it again in the press conference after the 40ers-Dolphins Game and not only did Kaep not back off his praise of Castro he tried to act like everyone’s making a big deal out of nothing and he is actually the wounded party who is being taken out of context, misunderstood, blah blah blah.

Then he went on to continue praising Castro even more than the first bout.

It’s getting real hard to not think what he actually likes about Castro is that he hated America.

    • Sage says:

He kneels during the national anthem, but that’s only because his PR people told him to. Before that he slouched disrepectfully on the bench.

He is said to have married or fallen for a SJW. This is what Obama would be like if not grasping for political power.

Just loved it when Kiko Alonso of the Miami Dolphins slammed that no good Castro lover into the ground Sunday.

Kiko is my favorite football player.

I also heard he called Kaepernick ignorant. Sounds like Goodell will have to send Kiko to a re-education camp once the mainstream media turns it into a racist statement instead of the true statement that it was.

I know God has made a special place in Hades for Fidel Castro (well deserved I might add).

  24. ck says:

Anybody know what happened to Buzzy? Hope he is o.k.?!

  25. jason says:

Tebow failed in the NFL and we still have this crap. He isn’t gonna make it in baseball either. He is great on SEC network and running his mouth speaking to people. That’s his real talent. Even in school he spent more time going places to run his mouth than to get pro ready. It was simple what he should have done from the start. He didn’t impress anyone and still doesn’t in pro sports. Kid failed, that’s what he does in pro sports and even wrote a book to make himself look better and ofcourse making money off of the people that worship him. Come on you still don’t see what it is.

    • Andrea says:

Looks like Jason crawled out from under his rock. How’s it going Jason? NFL ratings are down big time,Donald Trump is the President-elect – how do you like them apples?

Must really set you off knowing Tebow makes more money in one minute than you make in a lifetime.

I see the ESPN analysts that you treat as gods have caused ESPN to lose a million viewers in the last two months.

Take care Jason and don’t forget to its men like Tebow that keep this country safe – not your flag burning buddies you hang with.

      • ck says:

Amen to that Andrea!;) Bet Tisa is riled up…guess he doesn’t like being ignored on purpose and for GOOD REASON, LOL!!!
