Through three instructional league games, Tim Tebow is batting .286/.375/.500 with one home run, two RBI, two walks and three runs scored.

It’s not a direct correlation to actual league play but…in the Eastern League where the Mets Play AA and the Pacific League where they play AAA those numbers would put Tim among the Batting Leaders in every category. In Major League he’d be basically be in the Top-50.

However you cut it Tim has so far done a really solid job. I think he probably needs to get his power numbers up even though from a statistical perspective they’re really good. But the thought of his being a scary powerful Hitter has got to be at the heart of what appeals to the Mets, Braves and everyone else who’s been interested. That’s such a rare thing displaying that is a wild card in roster decisions.

Now that is some excitement generated for baseball…what do u think, Sage?!

Tebow had 14 at bats and put the ball in play 11 times with 2 walks and 1 strikeout. He struck out looking in 3 pitches so I’m thinking that his coaches told him not to swing so he’d know what it feels like to strike out looking. I’m glad that part of his training is over. 🙂

Tebow headed to Arizona Fall League, various sources

If Tim is sent to the Arizona Fall League, what does that say about his progress?

If he did well in the instructional league, this was going to be the next logical step. Tim did well and the Mets liked what they saw so they assigned him to the Scottsdale Scorpions of the AFL.

He will be tested there so it will be exciting to see what he can do.

      Tim reports Sunday to Scottsdale.

Opening day is October 11 and Scottsdale plays that day.

Interesting. Commenters to this article say it’s a big jump from instructional to AFL, and he’ll be exposed. So, that’s where the goal post has been placed today.

We’ll see if they’re right or wrong, and whether they try to move the goal post later on, as they always did with pro football.

The AFL is a league designed for top prospects to sharpen their skills.

Tebow did well in his tryout against AAA pitching. I believe he will do just fine.

A lot of people want to count him out but he continues to surprise people (not us, LOL).
