    First pitch, actually.

Reminds me of Tebow storming through the middle of the Raiders’ defense for a 40+ yard TD in his first NFL start.

    Not an ordinary guy.

I know I’m going to get in trouble for saying this, but if I was Mr. Torres there is no way in Hades I would give permission to the various networks to use the video ( ESPN,CBS,ABC,NBC,etc.)that have made a ton of money bashing Tebow over the years.

Let us enjoy it on the internet.

This is my humble opinion on the matter. Some may disagree with me and that is fine also.

Any remaining doubt on the difference between the NFL and Baseball may have been put to rest with some comments by the Cardinals Pitcher who gave up the Home Run.

He tweeted out Hey Tim I thought we agreed you were going to take the first pitch.

And in response to a reporter who identified him as the unidentified pitcher he tweeted I guess he has to work on locating his fastball.

Baseball is a Game of a very long season. Everyone takes it all in stride. Especially players or they’d drive themselves crazy. As the saying goes in Baseball you fail 7 times out of ten and you go to the Hall of Fame.

  4. Danny says:

A tweet from Tim’s twitter account, Fun Day!

  5. ck says:

He is like the proverbial “Little Engine That Could”! CONGRATS TEBOW!!!

  6. Bubbaelvis says:

I am still getting use to the idea of Tim as a Major League Baseballl player. That was a great way to introduce himself to baseball. That is just another peg in the Tebow legend. I bet it drives the haters crazy. I still find it so disappointing that the NFL snubbed a guy who could bring in tremendous ratings because he is too popular. Does that make sense to anyone. We know it was’nt about ability. It is ironic that the NFL is propping up Keapernick and their ratings are dropping. I guess one circus is a acceptable and one is not. How is that not a locker room distraction? Although I disagree with him I defend Kaepernick’s right to speak out but believe that disrespecting our flag is not the way to do it. Anyway, I Sid all that to say Tim is in a good place and MLB seems to be welcoming him and pulling for him to succeed.

    • Danny says:

It does seem to be a lot of “coincidences” doesn’t it? I’ve had a lot of similar thoughts about Tim leaving the NFL once and for all and its current issues. It’s kind of a perfect storm for the NFL in a sense with all the other issues combined.

    • ck says:

      Well said, Bubbaelvis:)

  7. Sage says:

Here’s Skip telling it like it is. I only wish I’d heard him this vociferous several years ago.

  8. Danny says:

    Vs. Marlins

So far 2·4, RBI, walk, run scored, strikeout. Game almost over.

  9. Sage says:

Does anyone know what opportunities there are for Tim to play this fall or winter after the instructional league?

    • Brandi says:

He already has an offer in the Venezuelan Winter League. He can take them up on it at any time. The Mets may have something else in mind. But it’s a top team in a top league and he’d be playing against Major League Players.

Each Team can have 7 or 9 (I forget the exact number) of foreign players and those slots are usually filled by MLB AAA and Major League Players getting more work in.

      • Sage says:

Thanks, Brandi. Some of your recent columns have been good, by the way.

        • Brandi says:

          Thanks Sage,

BTW, I began that blog as more of a journal. It’s why I generally haven’t spent tons of time on “polishing” the articles up. But I’m putting some TV Stations together and my Marketers are using my articles as Marketing Materials for the TV. So I beefed up the hosting. (It can easily handle over a million simultaneous readers now) and will be having an Editor cleaning up my articles. Yes I hate to say it. I’m getting a bit more “professional” with it.

          There goes the fun. 🙂

As usual, I am boycotting Thursday Night Football.

What do you think the chances of Tebow being in the Met’s spring training camp next year.

2 for 4 today after not playing baseball for over a decade.

It’s too bad Tebow did’nt go for baseball sooner. Instead the NFL jerked him around for a couple years.

I would like to tell you what I really feel about the NFL but children may be reading this.

    • David says:

Most have been predicting 2017 as a likely scenario for spring camp, but if he plays like this in AA or fall league it might get moved up.
Tebow played 5 innings in the first game and 4 innings today. In 9 innings, Tebow is now 3 for 10 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored.”
He had 10 at bats and put the ball in play 9 times.
I would hope that he has their attention.
I’ve just started watching some MLB and I’m surprised at how bad some of the guys look while batting. Some are flailing at air, their heads come around before the ball gets there, no hip rotation and falling and stumbling as they swing. Tim has core body strength that gives him a huge advantage and lots of control to put the bat on the ball.
Tebow, 29, returns to the Tradition Field complex on Monday. He will play in two more instructional league games next week in Jupiter as the Mets face the Marlins on Monday and the Cardinals Thursday. There may be other simulated games during practice.

    • ck says:

      Couldn’t agree more, Andrea:)

  11. Sage says:

Gase 1 and 3. He must be furious at his players. We’ll see if he’s able to coach up Tannehill to 6 wins, like the Cutler last year.

John Fox, Mike McCoy, Adam Gase bought themselves some time with Payton Manning, but they’ll be joining Dennis Allen on the way out of the league soon.

MLB.TV is Free for the last 3 days of the season. The Mets play the Phillies in their final game tonight at 7:05.

Cleveland Indians outfielder Marlon Byrd thinks that Tebow’s HR in the first game was impressive:

Go Tebow!! Thanks for all the informative and great comments everyone has posted about Tebow. Missed evertone still sick, my hubby going through some things as well, you all are always in my thoughts and prayers!

  15. tawk2 says:

    meant missed everyone

  16. Danny says:

Great article about Frank Thomas and his thoughts on Tebow:

Interesting insights about Urban Meyer too.

    • TheMascotArmy says:

Great link! Frank Thomas is a new favorite of mine, as is MLB. Marlon Byrd too.

    • Sage says:

That’s a really interesting take. Thanks for the link.

Growing up in Colorado it was hard to get into baseball, since we didn’t have a team. But I could see the crowds in October were something special. I hope Tebow will get a chance to be a part of that.

Tebow had such a good affect (effect?) on his football teammates, and I imagine that will be true in baseball too.

  17. Andrea says:

Yeah !!!! Tawk2 is back !!!! We missed ya !!!!

  18. David says:

Read the first chapter of the book “Shaken”

  19. Danny says:

Today’s report, Tebow goes 1-4 with a walk against the Marlins. One more game on Thursday.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but after Thursday I believe that concludes the instructional league play.

Depending on what the Mets decide, next up will be Arizona Fall League or perhaps the team in Venezuela that offered him a contract to play winter ball.

  20. ck says:

Thanks for all the great info. everyone!:D

  21. ck says:

Won’t be able to make the Thursday games and they will probably reschedule due to major storm…think some prayers are in order on this thing called “Matthew”!
