Manning this season 7 TD’s, 11 INT’s. Denver has relied on a very strong special teams and defense to take them where they are at now. Manning is struggling now and as the weather turns colder for the winter, so will his stats.

Today the game was close because of a 80 yard punt return.

Manning and Elway has to know that it’s his last shot at the SB. It isn’t going to end well.

Interesting, Danny. You’re probably right about the 2d half of the season.

I figured the Broncos would have a running game, but it sounds like that’s lacking. I think Tebow could do great things with zone blocking. Huge holes.

After Tebow made great efforts and had great success in 2011, Elway could not even bring himself to say unequivocally that he’d be the starter in next year’s camp. Yet before 2d stringer Osweiler had even thrown a pass in training camp, Elway declared him “our” quarterback of the future.

Osweiler is an interesting player, with both height and athletecism. It’s conceivable he will be successful when he gets a chance. Yet spending several years on the bench behind Manning didn’t do Curtis Painter any good.

Who really has thrived after a long apprenticeship at # 2? Since that’s the old fashioned method, it’s hard even to remember the names. I’m guessing they were mostly guys who were extra-talented to begin with.

Danny: “Last shot at the SB and is not going to end well” and agree w/u.

Sage: I saw this link and thought you would be interested in it. To answer your question, not many:

ck: P Manning traditionally under-performs when the weather turns before 40 degrees and he’s playing outside. His SB year with the Broncos, and if I remember right, he was fortunate enough to play in rather mild conditions in late season/playoffs. Weather turns cold, so does Manning’s arm.

      • Sage says:

Thanks for the interesting link. I like the wisdom that says your best bet at QB is the number of NCAA wins. Guys who do it well for several years in college are probably worth being patient with.

Interestingly, osweiler played less than a season in NCAA, if memory serves.

  3. Sage says:

I’m rooting against the Eagles because Chip.

Still, it’s funny to watch Jerry’s Cowboys loose game after game, scoring about 11 points. Looking and looking. Just can’t find any good QB to sign.

    • ck says:

Sage: Definitely entertaining in that respect when rooting against the uncivil who deserve to lose due to widespread bias and nothing short of obtuse, WHAT ELSE??!:(

    • Danny says:

Yes, the Cowboys are winless after Romo went out.

“Great” decision by Jones to go with Weeden and Cassell! How’s that working out for you Mr Jones?

  4. ck says:

Looking bad for the DONKEYS and heard that Pizza Guy’s shoulder is an issue as he was listed on injured status: Probable. Looks like they are going down in defeat…AT LAST SOME JUSTICE FOR TT AND HIS FANS IMHO!!!

Here’s a good stat for you: Sam Bradford was zero TDs from about 24 of 34 passes in regular time (about 68% completions) – sorry, can’t remember the exact numbers, but this is close. He had exactly zero passing TD’s, and only his running backs and special teams kept him in the game, with 3 TDs.

    And, yet, he’s a pro-QB?

In the end, he threw one TD pass in overtime to win the game.

    And, yet, he’s a pro-QB?

Well, hell yeah – I think that Sam Bradford is an NFL-calibre QB. But, I also think that TT is exactly the same.

Tebow, given that exact same game in 2011 would have people saying that this is exactly why he’s not an NFL QB.

People with Bradford will be saying that it wasn’t his best game, but at least he found a way to win.

I kept waiting for the interception in the end zone, but I think Kelly has stopped letting him throw so much in the red zone. The defense scored 1 of the TDs when Cassel threw a pick 6. His mistake cost them the game. Beating Dallas without Romo doesn’t mean that the Eagles got better. Everybody is beating Dallas without Romo. Lots of people are pointing out that the Eagles defense is weak because they allowed Cassel to throw over 300 yards and 3 TDs.
They have a chance to win the next 3 games but will probably lose the 3 after that and end with 2 conference games against the Redskins and Giants.

David: Those pick 6’s are normally game changers, ask Blake Bortles!

      • David says:

Lol, I think that he has 8 pick 6’s in his last 22 games. He’ll be in double digits before he finishes 2 full seasons. Got to be a record.

  6. Bigfan says:

    Bradford plays scared!

    • ck says:

Bigfan: Yea, he looks as if he’s a “Deer in headlights” and he can’t run so he ends up getting sacked too much…NO WONDER!

    • ck says:

David: Excellent article and thanks for making it available via link. Tebow is an EAGLE AND THAT IS INSPIRING…ALWAYS MAKING A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE!!!:)

    • Danny says:

The Steelers currently rank 5th in the NFL in team rushing at 133.4 ypg. Tebow can really take a rushing offense like that put that offense in overdrive. That will really open up the passing game too as the corners will start sneaking up into the box and open up the passing lanes for Tebow to exploit.

  7. Bigfan says:

I have to say I would be very happy for Timmy if he gets another shot but I will be shocked if he does too!

  8. David says:

The ref botched the coin toss in the Dallas-Philly game and gave the wrong team the ball.

    • Danny says:

I’ve always been curious of his nutrition routine. A few weeks ago I saw somewhere that the recommended intake of sugar was 25g daily. Wow, did I blow that out of the water! I was amazed on how much sugar is in ordinary foods at the grocery store. It really helped me to be more aware of how much sugar I was consuming each day.

Tim really inspired me to re-focus on losing weight and getting into the gym more. So far I feel like I’ve done well but need more work for sure if I want to look like Tim!

Great find David. Thanks for sharing it with us.
