  2. Danny says:

I’ve been mulling over this for a while and following the topic of comebacks, I put together some thoughts here for everyone to read and weigh in on.

    The Case for Cleveland:

I have not been a big fan of Tebow going to the Cleveland Browns. There’s a lot of issues with that franchise, not to mention the talent base in general that is currently on the Browns.

Cleveland has a tough time attracting talent. Ask LeBron James.

If he chose to go, why would Tebow go to Cleveland? He’s got a good media gig now and seems to enjoy what he’s doing. Perhaps he feels that he wants to be in a situation where he has a good fit like he did in Philadelphia before things went south.

But, what if Cleveland came calling for Tebow’s services?

    It could happen.

Johnny Manziel is reportably on the last chance train in Cleveland. The promise and expectations that ushered Manziel into the NFL has turned out not so good for him. Perhaps in hindsight he should have stayed in college and matured a bit. The NFL has a nasty way of exploiting every nick and flaw in a player’s skill set and personality. Manziel obviously has struggled greatly, both on and off the field. Even with his issues, it is somewhat likely someone may take a flier on him if he’s released and may salvage another year or two of his career. Still, a career 55.5 QBR is hardly what you would expect from a first rounder.

So, how does Tebow fit in?

There are some similarities that Tebow and Manziel have which would make a transition for Tebow pretty seamless. As far as the zone read goes, Tebow is probably the best one to run that offense. That alone can double down on what the Browns currently do with Manziel now.

It’s also obvious to most anyone that watched the preseason that if the entire preseason is looked at, a strong case could be made that Tebow is a much better passer now that he was a couple of years ago. See the last game with the Jets as confirmation. Between passing and running he had over 200 yards of total offense in one half of play.

Another plus is Tebow’s maturity and respect that his fellow teammates have for him. This on top of the other factors mentioned above make signing Tebow a good deal.

Tebow has demonstrated as well to bring out the talent around him; simply he makes people around him better. Characteristic of a great leader.

The right way to handle this if Cleveland were to sign Tebow is just give him the keys and let him roll with it. There’s very little downside and the upside is phenomenal!

Cleveland, are you ready for Tebow Time? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

CUTLER PICK SIX…GOOD THING THE BEARS DONT HAVE A QB LIKE TBOY WHO HOLDS THE BALL TOO LONG AND CAN’T READ DEFENSES

      http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000534216/article/bears-jay-cutler-sidelined-clausen-in-at-qb

The Chicago Bears are trying to mount a comeback without Jay Cutler.

The quarterback went to the locker room in the second quarter after attempting a tackle during a Tony Jefferson interception return on Sunday against the Cardinals. Cutler appeared to land hard on his right shoulder.

Jefferson returned the interception 25 yards for a touchdown to give the Cardinals a 28-14 lead with 2:59 remaining in the first half. Jimmy Clausen replaced Cutler in the lineup on Chicago’s next possession.

Cutler returned to the Bears’ sideline before the end of the second quarter, but Clausen remained in the game.

Prior to the injury, Cutler had completed 8 of 9 passes for 89 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Cutler is not the most popular guy in Chicago, but the Bears might be one of the worst teams in the NFL with Clausen behind center.

      ****************************************************

So, let me interpret this for everyone…including the pick 6, Cutler was 9 for 9 with 2 touchdowns. “Elite” quarterback, I’d say. Great spin on the ball, yada, yada, yada.

Oh and by the way, the pick 6 negates the other touchdown throw. No net positives for Cutler today.

And yet, he’s the “safe” guy to have as a QB. Makes no sense.

      • ck says:

Danny: “Makes no sense” and that is why the NFL is going to lose $$$ in the form of fans who are tired of paying and getting injury prone QBs who are “good enough” at collecting but not producing!!!

    • ck says:

JP: And he has a professional coach–JF–or so they said, HA!

  6. jp says:

palmer looks like a hs qb throws a pick to the de with 55 sec in the half..puts bears into game.. Thank god they dont have TT TO BLOW GAMES

  8. jp says:

    • tawk2 says:

Eagles not playing well, Bradford at some point said Kelly’s offense works at times, the problem is this offense was not meant for Bradford but for Tebow, I hope they loose badly today!

      • ck says:

Tawk2: They did…score: Eagles 10 & Cowboys 20 Bradford was firing on all cylinders with three turnovers, lol! Bet the fans wished they had TEBOW!!

      • Danny says:

tawk2: You are right in your assessment, I do believe that when looking at the Eagles offense, I really think that either by design or by accident, this offense is meant for Tebow to run.

Way to many weapons on this offense and none of them used properly. There is NO way that Murray should have 10 yards total rushing this season. Cooper, Ertz, Matthews, Agholar, all talented receivers not getting the ball at all because Bradford won’t/can’t throw downfield.

Kelly’s ego got in the way of evaluating talent and booted Tebow off the roster. Wondering if he has second thoughts now? Or, is his pride going to get in the way and think he can fix this himself?

  9. Bubbaelvis says:

I am expecting “Tebow, Tebow, Tebow” chants anytime now. This is simply awful football. Chip is going to lose this team if something doesn’t change. Does anyone really think Bradford and Sanchez can run this offense? Tebow and zone read would open it up. Murray would be seeing open running lanes and receivers would be running open. Chip too proud to bring him back and admit he is wrong.

  10. jp says:

Chgo radio HUB ARKISH BIG CAT WILLIAMS OWEN KRUTEZ BELITTLING THE MANY CALLERS FOR TEBOW. YOU CAN BE IN THE 10 CIRCLE OF HELL AND PEOPLE WOULD NOT PLAY TEBOW..WILL BE THE SAME IN PHILLY

  11. lex says:

i hope that twitter lights up tonight. the eagles are a disaster.

did i hear one of the tv announcers correctly saying that maybe kelly will consider re-signing tebow?

    • ck says:

Lex: Didn’t take long for someone eating those words aka “NOT GOOD ENOUGH”! LOOKS A LITTLE DESPERATE NOW…HMMM!!

    • Danny says:

Lex: Twitter BLEW up after the game! Some of the pro Tebow tweets were HILARIOUS! Great to see the pro Tebow folks out in force today.

I haven’t seen or heard of any reports on this, but I have to think there were at least a few at the Linc chanting Tebow’s name, especially in the second half.

Some even in sports media are speaking of Tebow favorably.

ck: Reading between the lines, Chip isn’t happy at all about the way the Eagles have started the season – blaming the wrong people in public. He has to know what’s up. Chip has $13 million reasons to support Bradford here; he made that his cornerstone transaction and he isn’t going to bail quite yet. Still, Chip has to be very uncomfortable with what he’s seen so far, especially since it appeared that he had an outstanding preseason. It’s not translating at all to regular season.

      • ck says:

Danny: Yes, he must be having some regrets about the situation he finds himself in through his own actions…practice does not tell the whole story and bet he will put more thought into what takes place in the end zone before he jumps on the proverbial “band wagon” just b/c practice w/no pressure went well. The real test as everyone knows is in a REAL GAME UNDER PRESSURE IN THE END ZONE AND THAT IS WHERE TEBOW EXCELS/WINS!!!
Noticed that SB looked a little lost out there and was even on the ground kneeling on both knees which made him look vulnerable.

  12. ck says:

Thanks David and Buzzy for posting and that is why TEBOW IS GRRRRREEEEEAAAAATTTTT!!!!! AND THE LOOK ON ROTTEN REX WAS BEYOND ENTERTAINING IMO!!!

    • Danny says:

Yep, Brady rang up 466 on the Bills!

Brady’s comment after the game: “Yeah,I could have done better”

Probably could have, however his arm probably got tired LOL

Rex was left scratching his Sanchez tattoo at the end of the game

      • ck says:

Not only that, he was taken off on a stretcher after that game due to Tebow winning w/Broncos over Jets! That is another reason why Tebow was traded to NY so ROTTEN RYAN could make an example by trying to humiliate which is just about the type of caliber he and Elrot have imo!!
Never thought I would say this, but Jets are playing next and hope they win against the Eagles!!!
