JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) lost its fourth straight regular season opener, falling to the Carolina Panthers (1-0), 20-9 on Sunday.

EverBank Field was filled with 60,733 fans ready to watch the Jaguars battle the Panthers Sunday in week 1 of NFL games.

The Jaguars never seemed to get into a groove and failed to get the offense going.

Blake Bortles completed 22 of 40 passes for 183 yds, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.

The Jags will get a shot at redemption next Sunday when the Miami Dolpins (1-0) come to town. That game will air on CBS47 at 4:05 p.m.

    Specific comments below from article:

    3. Blake Bortles looks 100 percent more comfortable in this offense than he did a year ago. The main reason? A power running game that can also morph into a reliable short passing game out of the backfield. Two running backs were drafted in the first round this year but that may have been because not enough teams at the back end of the first round considered T.J. Yeldon, who clearly established himself as the team’s lead back on Sunday with 51 yards rushing and a few very shifty moves.

Danny’s take: 100% improved? Wow, he must have really stunk before…see #4

    4. Speaking of Bortles, he still has a long way to go. Despite a heightened comfort level, he rifled a ball into double coverage, resulting in a game-changing pick six early in the third quarter. A summation of his night in a few words: Fewer wounded duck throws, the same amount of momentum-altering mistakes (In Bortles’ defense, it was a beautifully executed bluff coverage by Carolina).

Danny’s take: Don’t think that TT ever had a pick 6 in his NFL career… and fewer wounded duck throws? Does that mean that Bortles was throwing them all the time? In comparison, Tebow threw well in preseason, really didn’t see duck throws at all.

In TT’s last game he threw for more yards in half the throws that Bortles did today.

Buzzy Says Blake Bortles had two INTs one was a Pick 6 last year he had 16 INTs in 13 games and 3 TDs

YOU ARE THE BEST ANALYST.. HOW MANY YEARS DO YOU THINK THEY WILL WASTE A BACK UP… TBOY GETS CUT FOR A GUY WHO COULD NOT EVEN MAKE THE JAGS..

Astonishing how many think the QB position is about style points. This may have a lot to do with Brady, since he is that rare combo of style and substance.

A tweet says Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley are 7-26 as leaders of the Jags.

Absolutely terrible, of course. And keep in mind, before Tebow stepped in for the Broncos, their record was every bit as terrible: 6-25. And one of those six was a game Tebow won in his second start, under the famous “interim” HC Eric Studesville.

If there is one shameful lie that Tebow’s detractors tell more than any other, it’s that the Broncos’ defense was a coiled spring and Tebow was lucky to hop along for the ride.

When the defense knows that they have a good chance of TT pulling a game out they’re going to play a little harder, a little stronger.

A one touchdown flip in the Jags game today would have produced a Jags victory. Think Tebow could have pulled this one out today?

      • Sage says:

It’s that and osmosis. When the Broncos were loosing to the Chargers by about 25 points at halftime and Tebow came in off the bench, the Broncos almost won. Nobody knew Tim could pull off a comeback, but the team just awakened.

I didn’t play much team sports growing up, but I do recall feeling a lot of respect for teammates when they made plays.

Who knew the Jags were on their way to a loss, again?! Too bad the fans lost money and wonder if they have all those tarps still? This is beyond senseless when the answer is right in Jax. GBPT
