CHICAGO BEARS RUMORS: TIM TEBOW REQUESTED BY BEARS FANS

Chicago Bears rumors have fans of the team hoping that Tim Tebow signs. The Bears could use Tebow to replace Jay Cutler as the starting quarterback if a deal could be made. A report from the Chicago Sun-Times shows that Bears fans have flooded social media with requests that the front office go through with a plan to sign Tebow. Some fans want Tebow to be the starting quarterback even after Jay Cutler returns.

This follows a report from NFL.com, where the governor of Texas reportedly campaigned for the Dallas Cowboys to sign Tebow. It was an odd public statement for Gov. Greg Abbott to make, but he wanted the Cowboys to make a quick move to replace the injured Tony Romo. Romo could miss as many as eight weeks of the regular season trying to recover from a fractured collarbone. It puts the Cowboys in an equally desperate situation as the Bears, but Romo did lead his team to a 2-0 start.

There are several teams that already need a replacement at quarterback, but these Chicago Bears rumors seem to come from years of frustration in the fan base. A video from NFL.com also puts a voice to fans pleading for a change to be made with the team. It was an overall indictment of not just Jay Cutler, but also of backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen. Fans want the team to go in another direction, rather than see what Clausen can do on the field.

Clausen is getting a week 3 start against the Seattle Seahawks. The game will be played at CenturyLink Field, where the Seahawks rarely lose. It’s a tough task to put on the backup quarterback of the Bears, but the team is already 0-2 and cannot afford to fall to 0-3 on the season. So far this season, Jay Cutler has completed 26-of-45 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two interceptions, with a 78.5 quarterback rating. Jimmy Clausen completed 14-of-23 passes for 121 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception (a 56.6 rating).

Clausen will get a lot of playing time in week 3 to show that he belongs as the starting quarterback for the Bears. If he struggles, though, it is safe to assume that the fans who already want Tim Tebow to get signed will be out in force once again. Game time against the Seahawks is 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 27. If the team struggles early and Jimmy Clausen cannot find a rhythm, expect more Chicago Bears rumors about the quarterback situation to surface in week 4.

Tebow to the Bears makes sense. It may be the only thing that could save John Fox’s job, unless Cutler somehow returns and catches fire, which is not likely.

Chicago is the scenario that could do the most to demonstrate the value of Tim’s play. At 1-4, the Broncos and Fox rebounded with Tebow (and then Manning). I’ll be really surprised if the Bears can do that without Tebow.

  2. Bigfan says:

Foxy is missing a BIG opportunity period. No other NFL coach has had the experience of winning with Timmy.

Tebow could outplay Clauson with one arm tied behind his back!

  3. andrea says:

I agree with Sage. Fox winning with Tebow would send Elway up the freakin’ wall.

  4. David says:

It looks likely that Chicago will lose to Seattle. Clausen will probably have a rough day, especially with Chancellor back in the Seattle defensive backfield. They have played one conference game in the loss to Green Bay and don’t have another conference game until week 6 against the Lions. Fox is probably thinking that Cutler will be back by then, but they would have to win 90% of their games to get a wildcard playoff berth after losing 1 to 3 games with Clausen.

I do know that a decision needs to made soon. Fox can’t wait two or three weeks to decide what to do. Cutler has not proven himself and the odds are long that all of a sudden he will become Aaron Rogers.

Be sure to check out Brandi’s hot take on the Tebow girlfriend scandal!!

Let’s not be “Tabloid” this is about Timmy and Football.

    • Sherri says:

      From Brandi:

“It’s creating quite a stir on some Tebow Forums. I’m quite familiar with these groups and I’ll say something without the slightest hesitation.

Tim Tebow’s internal compass is far better than anyone who might question him. Oh, and it’s his life. Their lives. If these two are getting along swimingly I’m very happy for them. If not…why not? You guys would be cute together. 🙂

Just as I feel the Holier-than-it-has-a-right-to-Act NFL isn’t qualified to judge Tim Tebow the Football Player, I feel that other annoyingly Holier-than-Thou Bunch isn’t qualified to judge Tim Tebow the Man. Or Olivia Culpo the Woman.”

      Well Said B!

Bigfan: True and it could be they are promoting due to how quiet it is…

Tebow is back at the swamp for the FL-TN game.

  8. Bigfan says:

Soooo Coach Kelly is now on the HOT SEAT…if that happens…I say TOAST!!

He had a winner instead of a repaired robot.

    • Danny says:

This offense was tooled for Tebow but now the roster is full of QB’s that know very little about zone read.

There’s a lot of decision making at the line of scrimmage with zone read and Tebow is arguably the best there is at that level with the speed of the game and all. He is a greatly improved passer too. I saw enough in that last preseason game to give him an opportunity he richly deserves.

        • ck says:

David: Thanks for the link…bet the fans are wishing they had Tebow now!
If he would have played all four quarters they would have won that game!!

      • ck says:

Danny: Which is also known as a “WASTED OPPORTUNITY”; i.e., Tebow.

      • brandi says:

I haven’t counted the Plays myself. But I read an article saying Eagles have run the Zone Read only twice this Season. They had Run the Option over two hundred times more than the next closest Team during Kelly’s time as Head Coach.
Buzzy Says : They are not going to run the Read Option as it makes Bradford a Target to get Hit with or without the Ball.

        • David says:

Yet, people will still blame his college style offense for the failure. He’s running Shurmur’s Rams offense with Bradford which failed in St. Louis. I just read that Thad Lewis was signed as a free agent by Shurmur in 2010 and was a backup to Bradford. Kelly is still listening to Shurmur and giving him what he wants, even if it means getting rid of Tebow.

          • Danny says:

Perhaps Schumer wants to be HC. Maybe this the end game. Destroy legitimacy in Kelly’s offense, get him fired and then Schumer steps in.

I know, crazy thought. But who knows?

          • David says:

            It crossed my mind too.

          • Danny says:

It is kind of interesting. I looked up Shurmur’s career coaching career. This is from Wikipedia:

Michigan State (NCAA I-A (GA) (1988–1989)
            Michigan State (NCAA I-A) (TE/ST/OL) (1990–1997)
            Stanford (NCAA I-A) (OL) (1998)
            Philadelphia Eagles (TE/OL) (1999–2001)
            Philadelphia Eagles (QB) (2002–2008)
            St. Louis Rams (OC) (2009–2010)
            Cleveland Browns (HC) (2011–2012)
            Philadelphia Eagles (OC) (2013–present)

His son Kyle is rated #7 as a pocket passer by ESPN for high school seniors entering college. He’s committed to go to Vanderbilt.

I’m sure that dad has a lot of influence on the style of play that his son plays.

He didn’t do so well in Cleveland as HC, but obviously head coaching is an interest of his and he may be angling for a backdoor way back into head coaching. All speculation and a person could read a lot into the Eagles current situation. Perhaps TT got caught in a political buzzsaw between Schurmur and Kelly.

It’s just something to keep a sharp eye on as the season progresses.

Hahahahaa RT @stephenasmith: Awwwww, to Hell with it. I might as well just say it: Where Is @TimTebow???

  10. jason says:

Tebow fan here, but sad to say you can wish all you want, I just do not see another team signing him
Buzzy Says : Thanks for Being Nice and I would somewhat agree with your statement But we can wish and pray for a change of heart from the NFL.
