Would be great to get a report from anyone who saw the play-by-play. Mascot, I’m not prepared to pay the NFL $100 until Tebow gets more meaningful snaps.

When they put a QB in with 9 minutes remaining, does anyone ever light it up with an arial show? I guess that happens sometimes. For Tebow at this stage, spraying the ball around under those circumstances doesn’t seem like a good plan. It didn’t sound like that was part of Kelly’s plan either.

Theafro remarked about more weak snaps. I, for one, like a QB who’s tough enough to steel the ball from a defender.

    • ck says:

Sage: True, you rarely, if ever, see that from a QB!!! Very impressive!

      • David Oliver says:

… And I know that this is the second time in these pre-season games,
that after he put the ball in the hands of the running back, who
seemed to not take it or drop – that he dove in to fight for the
ball and get it back.. thus this stat would be Tebow 2-0 against
defenses in fighting for the ball!

        • ck says:

David O.: Agree w/u and guess this is what happens when you are given the 4s instead of 2s…or else there is a LOT OF POLITICKING GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES!!! THANK GOD HE IS OVERCOMING EVEN THOSE OBSTACLES…GO TEBOW!!!:D

    • ck says:

The NFL Channel is going to have it on tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. (8/30/15)and, again, on Monday at 8:00 p.m. (8/31/15. Not the same as watching it live, of course!

  2. ck says:

    Buzzy nailed it!

  3. ck says:

Guess BO will be taking over b/c PM stated: “Can’t feel anything in my finger tips”…what is Elrot going to do now after bankrupting the Bronco’s w/one and done pizza guy?!!

  4. Danny says:

Buzzy, I think you evaluated Tebow and Barkley correctly. Tebow made the most of his time out in the field and Barkley just didn’t get it done, especially when playing with players that will probably make the team.

Tebow stole the ball back from the defender after the fumble? Impressive! That just don’t happen very often, rarely with a QB! Can you imagine the razzing that the GB defender got on the sidelines after all that? Wish I would have seen that.

  5. Kim henderson says:

Why don’t they let Tim play with the1and 2 offensive line that would show that he has improved its not fair to Tim tebow.he can be a nfl quarterback if he gets to work with ones and twos all nfl sports casters that enjoy cutting Tim down will have their day when they come up against god
Buzzy Says : the coaches understand he playing with the 3&4s and only look at what he does if he does good thats is Better.

  6. lex says:

I am with you Kim. Will try and watch the game replay-without the sound!
Do not care to hear any negative comments this morning re Tim.

This will be a big week with the team cuts coming.

    • ck says:

Lex: Now, that is a great idea…eliminate negatives by eliminating the sound, lol!!! Mayock is NOT very objective when it comes to Tebow, JMO!

  7. Kim henderson says:

Ian so worried about because he deserves to be on this team.i just watched times covers ion try and the ball is snapped so that Tim did not have time to do anything.if chip likes Tim so much he would be letting him work with the ones and twos I just don’t how people can do that to him .chip the boss I thought he controls everything but the owner or whoever must not like Tim how can someone not like him I just hope he does not get screwed again that’s awful and something should be done about .roger needs to find out what or is going to sabotage Tim and remove everyone who has screwed with tins life I am very upset, furious you name I feel like kicking their but myself

    • ck says:

Kim henderson: You are not alone feeling frustrated and that he has been targeted for no good reason except being above reproach and believing in GOD! All of this covert activity on the part of others leads me to believe as you do…SABOTAGE IF IT TURNS OUT OTHERWISE AND THAT WOULD BE PUTTING IT MILDLY AND MORE THAN JUST COINCIDENCE IMO!!!:(

  8. lex says:

Buzzy- What is your feeling as to Tim’s chances this week??
Buzzy Says : Less than 50% Depends on the last preseason game.

  9. lex says:

Brandi- Same question to you,as Buzzy. Tim’s chances this week to stay with the Eagles?

  10. John Christianson says:

Tim doesn’t get snaps with the ones and twos because he hasn’t shown sufficient development in camp to justify it. Chip will do anything to win, and if he felt Tebow gave him the best chance he would give him reps commensurate with his abilities. The idea that somehow Tebow isn’t being given a fair shot is beyond ludicrous; he’s had how many opportunities now to prove his mettle at QB? It’s time to face the painful reality that Tebow simply cannot play QB in the NFL, and he won’t be the first standout college athlete to fall short of that standard. It doesn’t make the NFL anti-Christian, it makes them pro competence.

    • Sage says:

Your contentions are dogmatic. Given 15 games to start in the NFL, Tebow scored 32 touchdowns. (19 passing with 9 interceptions, 13 running).

In TEN seasons Payton Maning never got above 33 touchdowns, and those were 16-game seasons.

Your dogma is tired. Not needed here. Go listen to ESPN radio. Lots of geniouses there who think like you do.

      • Sage says:

I should add it’s possible that PM ran for a few TDs that aren’t tallied in the stats I’ve cited. But they were rare, and the point is that Tebow has been denied the chance to cultivate his game the way others of similar pedigree have been. And it’s all because of dogmatism like yours.

Vince Young is another who was harmed by empty dogma of the kind you mouth. Jeff Fisher had an NFL rookie of the year and college legend, but he couldn’t warm up to him. Why? Because of herd mentality and lack of imagination about how to playthe game. Fisher’s winning percentage was higher with Vince Young than without him.

I’ve never understood how defensive players are supposed to progress after turning pro, while college legends like Tebow, Young and other Heisman winners are assumed to be unable to do so. As long as they’re not given a chance, dogmatists like you will die happy.

      • ck says:

        Sage: 100% agree!

    • ck says:

John Christianson: Think you need to face the painful reality that you are incorrect in your assumptions and like being lead by media types who have an axe to grind. Tebow WINS FOR A REASON AND, YES, HE IS THAT GREAT OF A PRO QB IN THE NFL COMPARED TO OTHERS WHO CAN’T HOLD A PROVERBIAL CANDLE TO HIM ON AND OFF THE FIELD…FEEL FREE TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT TO BELIEVE AND WILL DO THE SAME!

  11. Bigfan says:

Coach Kelly was not at all pleased with Timmy on his fumble…that he recovered…not at all…Timmy was dressed down quickly on that. Watch it and see his face.

Bradford looked very good. He was throwing dimes and darts!

    • ck says:

Bigfan: Glad Bradford is healthy and has better protection as it SURE makes a difference who ur playing with and for how long too…wonder if that will be the case when he plays a full game w/lots of pressure and the hits that come with it?! Facts are that he has a hx of getting hurt due to not being able to take hits like Tebow due to not being in as good a shape etc. Would take Tebow over Bradford anytime; and, like I said, Tebow has already beaten Bradford in the BCS!

Not much from Tebow tonite. Completed both passes, 1 on 3rd down for a 1st, another screen. One nice run. Future could hinge on Thurs nite.

  13. Shaztah says:

    It has begun !

Matt Lombardo ‏@MattLombardo975 25m25 minutes ago
According to sources: Mike Coccia, Jared Wheeler, Alfy Hill, Mike Johnson, Jeremy Towns, G.J. Kinne are players cut by #Eagles so far. #NFL

  14. lex says:

Thanks, Shaztah. 12 cut, so far. down to 78.

  15. Danny says:

Someone actually posted on ESP’s twitter feed (since taken down/deleted) that Tebow and Kip Smith (kicker) were released per sources. It wasn’t ESP posting that, just got tagged I think. It got taken down when Mark Eckel (a pro-Tebow writer who works with ESP) wrote that Tebow and Barkley were around for another week.

  16. lex says:

So, we have 24 more to get cut, if I am doing the math correctly.

    • Danny says:

Teams carry 75 until September 5, when they cut down to 53.

      • David Oliver says:

Yes.. I found these details from July, 25th..

        NFL Roster Cut increments dates:

Sept. 1: Prior to 4 p.m. ET, clubs must reduce their rosters to a maximum of 75 players on the active list.
        Sept. 3: Final preseason games.
Sept. 5: Prior to 4 p.m. ET, clubs must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List.

Sept. 5: Simultaneously with the cut-down to 53, clubs that have players in the categories of Active/Physically Unable to Perform or Active/Non-Football Injury or Illness must select one of the following options: place player on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform or Reserve/Non-Football Injury or Illness, whichever is applicable; request waivers; terminate contract; trade contract; or continue to count the player on the Active List.

Sept. 6: Claiming period for players placed on waivers at the final roster reduction will expire at 12 p.m. ET.
Upon receipt of the personnel notice at approximately 1 p.m. ET, clubs may establish a practice squad of 10 players. No club, including the player’s prior club, will be permitted to sign a player to a practice player contract until all clubs have received simultaneous notification via the above personnel notice that such player’s prior NFL player contract has been terminated via the waiver system.

After 4 p.m. ET, a club is permitted to place a player on Reserve/Injured as “Designated for Return.”

  17. lex says:

Mark Eckel’s states the rumor is that the Eagles are still trying to deal Barkley.

Question: If Barkley has ‘ no takers’, then what happens? The team must be
at 53 players on Sept. 5th.

  18. Bigfan says:

Ostensibly yes after Thursday but the cut doesn’t happen officially until after the last of the 4th pre season games.

  19. David Oliver says:

From: Mark Eckel Re: Eagles team on Qb Line-up for 53 man roster..

“Here’s one guess as to how it pans out before Saturday, 4 p.m.

Quarterbacks (3): Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow.

Comment: Tebow could have cemented the spot if he converts either one of those two-point conversions, Saturday night. But it’s not like Matt Barkley did anything to put him over the top. Talk to anyone around the team and the word is “it’s Tebow.” Who am I to argue?”

    (I Say “Amen!”_
