The Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback situation is muddy at best ahead of training camp, and the presence of controversial quarterback Tim Tebow complicates matters even further. According to one beat writer, however, Tebow has a real chance to make it to the regular season.

Tebow hasn’t thrown a regular season pass since 2012, and hasn’t topped a 50 percent completion rate in either of his two seasons as a starter, but that didn’t stop NJ.com writer Eliot Shorr-Parks from predicting he will beat out the more polished Matt Barkley.

“Tebow time makes it into the regular season. Why? Matt Barkley might be the better quarterback at this point, but it feels like his run in Philadelphia is over, even if he does have a strong preseason. Barkley has also shown he isn’t built to be a backup, emergency quarterback. Tebow doesn’t turn the ball over, can make plays with his legs and has starting experience. His inconsistencies as a passer would be concerning if he had to start 16 games. But in spot duty, he offers more than Barkley does,” Shorr-Parks wrote.

Barkley has not had many opportunities to prove himself in the regular season, but his limited sample size is not promising. He’s thrown zero touchdowns against four picks in four career appearances for the Eagles. While Tebow’s accuracy is often mocked, he brings superior rushing ability to the table, and has been able to limit turnovers despite his scattershot arm.

He can also add an element of surprise to the Eagles’ running game in short spurts, especially when paired with Philadelphia’s deep stable of rushers including DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles.

Doesn’t sound like he is convinced about Barkley.

There’s an article on NFL.com that is comparing triplets and their universities. The first round compared Florida to California.
    No. 1 Cal defeats No. 8 Florida — 16-0
Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch and DeSean Jackson
    VS.
Tim Tebow, Matt Jones and Percy Harvin

All of the 16 NFL sports writers picked Cal over Fl and of course they had lots to say about the QBs. It gives us a view of their opinions of Tim Tebow. I had a little fun with them with this post in the comments.

    “David Harris · Top Commenter
I just don’t understand how Tebow lost to Aaron Rodgers. In 2010,
Rodgers threw a TD every 16.96 attempts and 11.14 completions
Tebow threw a TD every 16.4 attempts and 8.2 completions and scored rushing every 7.1 carries.
And Tebow rushes for more TDs than his running backs. Marshawn Lynch scored 13 times rushing in 2014 and Tebow scored 15 times rushing in less than 16 games of playing time. Harvin’s speed rushing and pass catching ability and Tebow’s dual threat versatility win the day. Tim Tebow was the fastest scoring QB in the NFL in 2010. How did 16 NFL sports writers miss this?”
