.

Still, this past weekend might have actually felt better than when he was actually drafted back in 2010.

The Eagles made six picks last week during the 2015 NFL Draft, and the good news for Tebow is not a single one of them plays quarterback. Not even one of the 15 undrafted free agent rookies the team also brought in.

Why is that good news for Tebow?

Signed last month, Tebow was viewed as nothing more than camp arm, and was basically called that by his teammate Mark Sanchez (although head coach Chip Kelly lated refuted that claim).

To view Tebow as a camp arm, or a long shot to make the roster, was probably fair. Out of the NFL the past two seasons, Tebow’s days playing quarterback were viewed as over. Despite spending over a year working to change his unorthodox throwing motion, no team outside of the Eagles gave Tebow a shot.

Now, however, Tebow not only just has a shot, he has a really, really good one.

The Eagles current depth chart at quarterback looks like this — Sam Bradford is the starter, Mark Sanchez is the backup and then……?

Behind Bradford and Sanchez stand a trio of Tebow, third-year player Matt Barkley and practice squad quarterback G.J. Kinne.

Barkley’s chances of beating out Tebow aren’t good, since the team has been trying to trade him for over a year. Barkley might be a better player than Tebow, but it is hard to see him sticking around. If he does shine during training camp, and in the preseason games, the Eagles will likely trade him.

Kinne was a wildcard to make the team. A favorite of the coaching staff, Kinne has been learning the Eagles’ offense the past two seasons, which gives him a leg up on Tebow. He is also a better athlete, which might have ended up hurting him, as Kinne is now taking reps at running back and wide receiver.

The Eagles drafting a rookie would have been a big problem for Tebow, especially if they took a signal caller in the fourth-or-fifth round. A developmental quarterback, like UCLA’s Brett Hundley, would have been the end of Tebow. Instead, the Eagles brought in 21 rookies, and none of them will be competing with Tebow.

Now, Tebow has to be considered a favorite to land the job, especially if Kinne doesn’t move back to quarterback.

From free agent, to camp arm, to favorite to win the job — not a bad draft weekend for Mr. Tebow.

Another Elitist writer – operating out of the Pseudo Fact, Hate, Noise Floor…

Oh for crying out loud. Do you people even read these articles? The actual title for this piece on nj.com is “Tim Tebow’s chances of making Eagles skyrocket after 2015 NFL Draft” (I can’t imagine why Buzzy changed it). This writer’s saying Tim’s chances of making the Eagles’ final cut before the draft were uncertain, but now they’re VERY good. Yeah, he says that Barkley *might* be better than Tim and says Kinne’s a better athlete than Tim. So what?! That makes the point of the column that much stronger: because his point is, that in his opinion, TIM’S ALL BUT CERTAIN TO MAKE THE EAGLES’ FINAL 53-MAN ROSTER. And *that’s* all that counts. Tim’s future in the NFL hasn’t looked this good since 2012 and Buzzy & David O are complaining?!? Bizarre…

Kinne is a better athlete than Tebow? Have you see Tims workouts? I would like to see any of the other QB keep up with him. Most of you writers don’t see the obvious. Geez, Let’s just wait and see who is better.

  4. David Oliver says:

Larry – your real concern for Tim Tebow and his future is admirable??

    Yeah Right..

Because of the courage of one Coach with authority (Chip Kelly) to go against Media / NFL Black Ball described below – this writer had to condescend to Recognize the Resulting Reality of Tim Tebow finally having a fair chance:

NOT BECAUSE HE RECOGINZED THE PREVIOUS INEQUITIES – BUT BECAUSE,
DO TO HIS DISMAY THIS IS EVEN HAPPENING – THUS HIS ATTITUDE OF DISDAIN!

The ONE THING THAT MADE TIM ESPECIALLY – Unique and Distasteful to
these Elitist NFL & Media-Combine Owner/Controllers WAS NOT his
unorthodox Throwing Motion or his unique playing Running / Throwing
    Style etc. BUT WAS:>>

His Unfeigned, Unashamed, Visible Faith IN JESUS CHRIST as shown by
his Kneeling in Prayer, and ESPECIALLY – THE FACT THEY KNEW! that
Every Time – WHEN – He the “NFL QB” would be interviewed after a
game on “THEIR NETWORKS” he had the “AUDACITY” (in their minds)
and BOLDNESS to SAY: “FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO THANK MY LORD AND
SAVOUR – JESUS CHRIST… and my TEAMMATES”

THIS SENT THEM OFF THE DEEP END – IT WENT AGAINST ALL THEIR ABSOLUTE
BELIEFS – THAT THEY WERE REALLY THEIR OWN SPECIAL GODS – NOT JESUS
CHRIST. He had exceed their “Christian Visibility Limits….

AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TIM TEBOW HAD TO GO – Regardless of what
additional $$ income he and those who enjoyed his special brand of
play brought to the NFL Game.

Rex Ryan was the Lead Destroyer – after that it became an easier
Process to implement: – Their “NFL/MEDIA” HATE Campaign and then
onto their FINAL IMPLEMENTED “Black BALL of TIM TEBOW AS A QB IN
    THE NFL”

And beware the NFL GMs and Coaches that would try to thwart this
surreptitiously mandated edict – they would soon realize their
CAREER – would SOON, be “significantly affected” (or DELETED).

Yea, Buzzy, where is the filter for this CRAP!!!
