Tim is all over TV but most are Naysayers

There’s alotta good reviews coming out of Philly. Some bad ones too. But Tim’s blue collar image is a hit with lots of Eagles Fans. (Not much faith in Sanchez or Bradford’s durability doesn’t hurt either.)

  2. Pamelot says:

Yes! Yes! Yes! Forget the gossips. He is going to be great! PTL!!!!!

    • Sage says:

Agreed. With less hype and publicity around him this time, it will be easier for a team to keep him on the roster, and on the roster he will prove a great asset.

Sure would like to see him starting again someday, but it may take still more patience.

Pamelot: Very much in agreement and finally what we have been waiting for all along!

    • Sage says:

By the way, I still think Tebow is going to the Hall of Fame.

This could just be my impression at this point. But I’ve noticed a change in the tone just over today. This morning there was almost nothing good coming out of the National Sports Media. Even alotta Philly Sports Media was negative.

THEN the Philly SportsTalk Shows got going and alotta Fans were expressing high hopes. Then the tone of SportsTalk guys started getting positive, followed by a change in National Media.

ESPN which made a big deal out of Tim’s QBR is now going out of its way to point out that late in the Games only Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck have been as productive as Tim. Even Mark Schlereth started saying good things and he’d rather eat broken glass than say something nice about Tim.

I think Philly Fans might be swaying some of these guys. But again, at this point it could just be my impression. 🙂

    • Sage says:

These things are good to hear. After the last year I’ve turned almost entirely away from sports media, so I wouldn’t know otherwise.

In all honesty, yours is a type of sports media that I still enjoy. Keep it up.

  4. Pamelot says:

    Yay!!! Good to know.

  5. David says:

Tim is listed as number 11 on the Philly roster. 15 was available.

I’ll agree with Brandi. My sense of the recent eagles’ fan response is far less negative than I had expected. Maybe they wont be the major douchebags I expected (as the dimwitted jets fans were). I almost get a sense of open-mindedness from them. I think it may stem from their having defended and bought into Chip Kelly, and if he sees something, they have an inner conflict that has them lightening up a bit with the Tebow vitriol.
Anyway, maybe we’ll see a real life version of this

    ps-Schlereth is a douche

TheMascotArmy: We have seen change and when the critics are finally silenced you will see a HUGE CHANGE!!! STAY TUNED FOR TEBOWTIME!!!

  7. TheMascotArmy says:

I dont know how the rest of you feel about this, but I love that when i click the eagles official shop link, that Tebow’s jersey is the first thing there. I was on the fence, but I’m getting one.
    Tebow!

TheMascotArmy: Great read and I like what the writer, Bob Ford, stated about Rex Ryan which is absolutely the truth!

    • brandi says:

A pretty mainstream article. I expect these to be more upbeat fairly soon. People tend to be at least somewhat a reflection of the company they keep. I’m not going to fault Bob Ford for using the completion % thing. BUT the reality is this. John Fox took a risk in admitting he told Tim to “Beach” the Ball the way he did. It wasn’t a huge risk of a fine. But it was a big one that Refs would begin flagging Tim for Intentional Grounding, because that’s what it was. A little trick to ground the Ball if he thought there was even a 1% chance of an Interception without drawing a Flag.

NFL SportsWriters should ALL know this. BeatWriters covering the Eagles should learn it. GMs knew it. Coaches knew it. So why so many acting like it isn’t true? If you take just 2-3 of those a Game and convert them into either Completions or Pull-it-Down & Run, Tim’s Completion % is low-to-mid 60s. Just what he had in College and what he had with the Jets. In short, Tim is a 65% or so Passer. Always has been always will be. And in reality has been in the NFL. But noone who knows this…and they all should…want to just acknowledge it.

As for the rest of this, I like he’s backhandedly saying nobody in their right mind is counting on Sam Bradford’s body. He had problems in College and he’s been nothing but fragile…as many Big12 QBs are…in the NFL. And it’s real tough finding anyone who has alotta faith in Mark Sanchez when the pressure is on and, maybe more importantly, when Chip begins running the Offense he wants to run instead of the one he’s patched together with the moving parts and limited reign the Eagles gave him before this year.

Barring some big move, or a collapse on his part, Tim is probably going to be the Eagles Starting QB this year. Something they’re already saying on Philly SportsTalk Radio.

  8. Sam says:

So guys, i live in Belgium, but i want to see Tim play. Games, training camp etc. What ways are there possible to watch that over the internet? No problem for me if i need to pay money for that.
Buzzy Says I just posted a link for that on the front page.

    • TheMascotArmy says:

You can watch preseason games online (hunt around NFL.com). I think the NFL preseason package is maybe 50-75 bucks. Preseason is an almost guaranteed way of watching Tebow because backup QBs will start some games (of course I’m hoping Tebow will become the regular season starter at some point).

  9. brandi says:

I’m waiting to see how wild it will get in Philly when Brian Dawkins starts talking. He absolutely loves Tim and has already said he would have come back for another Season instead of Retiring if the Broncos hadn’t traded him. BDawk is revered in Philly and his endorsement isn’t likely going to to be met with many Philly SportsWriters willing to diss him for trumpeting Tim.

  10. Bigfan says:

All good news for Timmy however we all need to keep him covered in prayer and surrounded with angels. The enemy is still his biggest hater!!

    • ck says:

Bigfan: Excellent analogy…THEY CERTAINLY WON THE LOTTERY W/T2!!! Looks like the right team w/right coach and the right QB = SB!!

  11. Pamelot says:

Seriously, Bigfan. “When you get in the arena, remember who the Enemy is” (-Catching Fire). 🙂
