Eagles likely to sign Tim Tebow, if Matt Barkley is traded

Tim Tebow could actually be a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in the coming days.

Just a few seasons ago, Tim Tebow took the NFL by storm. Known for his charisma and his larger than life persona, everybody loved Tebow and every sports station across the country featured him as their most-displayed guy. At a time, Tebow was on ESPN even more than LeBron James. Tebow hasn’t played in the league since 2012, as he has been an SEC College Football announcer. Despite that awesome job, Tebow is getting some NFL buzz around the league and one team that really likes him is the Philadelphia Eagles.

Yesterday, it was reported that Tebow worked out for the Eagles, however, it was also reported that the Eagles had no interest in signing him at the time. With a body like Tebow’s, many believe he could be the perfect joker tight end, a position that is basically a hybrid between a tight end and a fullback. Despite that, Tebow wrote this on Twitter after he was released by the New England Patriots.

“I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.”

It was reported earlier today that the Eagles put third-string quarterback and former USC star Matt Barkley on the open market. More interestingly, Pro Football Talk reported that if the Eagles trade Barkley away, they would likely sign Tebow. If they do in fact bring in Tebow, it would not only be a media frenzy, but he would also be the second quarterback they’ve brought in this offseason, the other being Sam Bradford via trade.

It’s doubtful that Tebow would win over the starting position, but Chip Kelly loves certain aspects in player, and in his versatile offense, it really doesn’t come as a surprise that Kelly’s interested in Tebow. If the Eagles do in fact sign Tebow, one thing that would be intriguing is a reunion between Tebow and Mark Sanchez. However, if Kelly’s system, Eagles fans have incentive to belief that maybe the two quarterbacks could coexist.

Guess his workout went pretty good. I really hope it happens and we will get to see his improvement in preseason. Hopefully his practice performance has improved and he leap frogs Sanchez. Bradford is just so injury prone that I don’t see him making it past a couple games with that fast paced offense. He has had 2 knee injuries already and is more prone to have another, doesn’t the repairs weaken the knee after 2 times? I don’t wish ill will on anyone but I do hope that Tim earns his chance. I still can’t believe how he could keep it quiet when I told him that I wanted to see him play again and I had stopped watching the NFL since he left. LOL like one fan (me) would gain his confidence and he would tell e his secret.

Time to do some serious praying for T2 imo.

This tweet just went out from the NFL…

A picture of Tim, this link http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap3000000479927/Spikes-I-already-set-my-watch-it-s-Tebow-time?campaign=Twitter_video_spikes

And the tweet text “I already set my watch. It’s Tebow Time.”

Earlier today the NFL tweeted about Tim taking Tom Brady’s advice and now he’s back on the radar.

Fence mending or a coat of whitewash? It’s moving in the direction of setting a stage.

That other tweet was sent out a few minutes ago from the NFL. This was a few hours earlier from NFL Media PR Department.

Spikes on Tebow: “I feel like if you just keep telling him he can’t he’s just going to try to prove you wrong & he will prove people wrong.”

  7. David says:

Tebow scored as many times as both of the Philly QBs put together.
In their first 16 games of playing time,
Tebow scored 34 times with 9 interceptions
Bradford scored 19 times with 15 interceptions
Sanchez scored 15 times with 20 interceptions

There’s no way of telling what Chip Kelly is going to do. He has no use for the way the NFL does anything and he now has the freedom to do everything exactly how he wants to.

Tim Tebow doesn’t look good in NFL practices? Guess what. Chip Kelly thinks NFL practices are a joke and a waste of everyone’s time and he’s now going to do things his way.

NFL is “risk averse” and doesn’t like to do things differently because if it doesn’t work, not only do you get fired, it’s hard to find another job. Guess what. Chip Kelly doesn’t care. If he gets fired by Philly he’s given no indication he cares about where he’ll go next. He is going to be averse to risk aversion. At least by NFL standards. 🙂

NFL has gotten used to saying there’s an NFL Game that is different from the rest of Football? Guess what. Chip doesn’t buy that nonsense. The Jaguars wanted to call Denard Robinson by a more general playmaker-type designation and the NFL shot them down. What the jaguars alluded to doing and the Jets claimed they were going to do with Tim Tebow but never did…Chip Kelly probably is just going to go ahead and do it.

The NFL has tried to make every team look the same. Chip Kelly is not just telling them that’s a joke. He’s probably going to show them just what a joke it has been. That seems to be what he is now intent on doing. He has listed a whole bunch of things he thinks the NFL just does totally wrong and I think he’s now going to use this Season to show it.

So he might do just about anything. Including putting 2 or 3 QBs on the field at the same time.
