Tim Tebow Weighs in on Oregon Loss

ESPN analyst Tim Tebow was on SVP & Russillo on Friday to discuss this weekend’s slate of games, but he also talked about Oregon’s upset loss to Arizona on Thursday night.

“I think it was a tough loss if you’re Oregon,” Tebow said. “That’s a game that you really need to win. Especially being the No. 2 team in the country and Marcus Mariota coming back and having the talent that they do. That’s a very tough loss, especially at night on a Thursday night at home against a team that a lot of people didn’t think was gonna be that good in Arizona coming into the season.”

“But give Arizona a lot of credit. A lot of what they do offensively is not easy to stop, all the way to when Rich Rod was doing it at West Virginia, not a lot of people have stopped it. They only have a few formations but they line up and they execute it very well and it’s tough to stop.”

“Oregon had their chances,” he continued. “The two fumbles by Marcus were very costly and that penalty on third down was a huge penalty, just something that can’t happen. So they had their chances”

Tebow thinks the loss will hurt Marcus Mariota’s Heisman chances.

“For Marcus, it’s also tough because that’s a tough game as far as the Heisman goes,” he said. “He’s someone that has the talent and he has the team to compete to win a Heisman. I think that’s gonna definitely hurt him for a little while, but it’s also a very open Heisman race right now with a few things happening to Jameis (Winston) and then Braxton Miller getting hurt and this loss with Mariota. It’s very open right now so who’s gonna really step up and claim that trophy?”

Looks like Jax has lost every game so far…hmmmmmmmmm!

The two teams that publicly humiliated tebow (Jets and Jaguars) are a combined 1-9. Just saying.

The NY Dailey News probably meant it as a joke but the joke is the Jets had the answer in Tebow and totally mishandled and blew it. I foolishly thought they might keep him when they waited so long to release him. But no, they were just toying with his career. The new offensive coordinator Marty Morningweg would have known how to use him and I think he liked what he saw out of Tim. If Rex stayed out of the way it would have worked.

    YES..

Rex Ryan – “Dark Side” Coach of the NY Jets – Low-Life Treatment of Tim Tebow – helped and Reinforced the NFL BlackBall Campaign against Tim Tebow – having ANY Opportunity at a fair shot at NFL QB position!

The New York elitist snobs deserve Rex Ryan.

It amazes me year after year the Jets and the Jags stink to high heaven – why would anyone pay even a penny to watch these so-called football teams?

Andrea: If it weren’t for the fact that it is too funny and, unfortunately, true…the Jets/Jags do “STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN”! They have to be losing A LOT OF MONEY WHEN NO ONE WANTS TO PAY TO SEE THE BEST WAY TO LOSE GAMES VIA THESE GUYS…HOW INEPT DO YOU HAVE TO BE IN THIS LEAGUE?? Grrrrrr!

The New York Daily News knows both the jets AND the New York Media. Mehta Manish called Rex on his games and found what happened when Rexy and the Jets turned the NY Sports Media loose on him. Manish should have known. He’d seen the same thing happen previously to Dan Leberfeld. Leberfeld simply called Rexy on refusing straight questions with straight answers and was creamed. So much for calling SportsBeat Reporting “Journalism”. His fellow “Journalists” knew the landscape. Be good little PR Puppets and you get the occasional “scoop”…yeah, 2 minutes before everyone else.

That’s what “Reporting” has become. Writers/Reporters sell every ounce of integrity for a 2-minute head start on their competitors. And you get trash media. Even in New York, which has prided itself for well over 100 years on not being able to be “bought”.

Sorry, too early. Need coffee. 🙂

My point is, the NYDN can put that on the back page in that way, not make any big deal about it, just let it sit and soak in and have everyone guessing if it’s a joke or if they really mean it. Yeah, they really mean it. But if they really say it, it becomes a big media mash. This way, New Yorkers, who Y’all may remember were polling at upwards of 96-97% wanting Tim to start in local newspaper and radio polls, including Daily News Polls.

This, IMO, was for Daily News Readers while also slapping both the jets and NY Sports Media all in one little caption and picture.

Brandi: You are definitely a “night owl” and it is good to be in the 97%+ percentile! Funny, too, how everywhere you go, THERE’S TEBOW!!! It must irk Elrot and others to no end as THEY thought they had the solution once and for all, ha, ha!! Now, he is even more popular plus, getting the ratings they wish they could command; only they are known for doing the wrong things while he is the opposite and always doing the right/good!!!:)

Amazing how human nature causes people to covet approval and notoriety so much that people will so readily sell out.
