The Dallas Cowboys plan to bring free agent defensive end Michael Sam in for a physical Wednesday with the intention of signing him to the practice squad, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed source.

Sam is attempting to become the first openly gay player in the NFL. A former standout at Missouri, Sam revealed he is gay prior to the draft. He was drafted in the seventh round, No. 249 overall, by the St. Louis Rams, who released him last weekend.

Although a media circus is certain to follow Sam, he could help a Cowboys defensive line that has been depleted by injuries and defections. Sam had an impressive preseason with three sacks and 11 tackles, but the Rams are deep in defensive linemen.

On Tuesday, the Cowboys placed defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, their second-round pick from Boise State, on the returnable injured reserve list. Lawrence suffered a broken foot in the first days of training camp.

The Cowboys also signed defensive end Jack Crawford, who was let go by the Raiders.

Jerry Jones always badmouthed Tebow – never had a good word to say about him.

The gay clown deserves to be with the clown Jerry Jones.

    Two frauds.

The media circus continues with this gay clown.

But yet Tebow can’t return to the NFL because of the “circus” it will bring.

    Makes me want to hurl.

    • Sage says:

Cowboys with Romo aren’t going to get far. This we can enjoy.

Romo is about the antithesis of Tebow. Not hating on the guy, but he’s just the opposite of Tim. All style, and he ends up with a lot of hand-wringing and excuses.

Isn’t this like Romo’s 10th year in the league? Same number of playoff wins as Tebow.

      • ck says:

Sage: Nothing short of pathetic and makes me want to “hurl” too!
Both you as well as Andrea know absolutely what you are talking about!

    • Lance says:

What happened to make you hate gay people so much?

      • KingSolomon says:

THIS IS A SITE DEVOTED TO TEBOW FANS!!!! YOU ALWAYS TALK ABOUT CRAP THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. TAKE YOUR VILE COMMENTS ELSEWHERE. NO BODY IS TALKING ABOUT HATING GAYS—ONLY YOU. IF YOU GOT SOMETHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT TIM, BE MY GUEST. IF NOT, GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE.

  2. andrea says:

Nothing Lance – just want everybody treated fairly.

Remember when Tebow was called the “Justin Bieber” of football? Or how about when some football player said his two year old could play better at football than Tebow?

The response from the NFL -they did nothing. The press loved it – I remember they laughed when some comedian said if Tebow and Osama Bin Laden were in a room and he only had one bullet in his gun he would shoot Tebow.

As for Sam – no bad words can be said against him. When NFL .com writes an article about Sam no comments are allowed in the comments section. Every other football player that has an article written about them must endure comments.

Any football player that says anything negative about Sam must publicly apologize to Sam ( no such standard for Tebow)

And poor Tony Dungy – he said he wouldn’t have drafted Sam (like 31 other teams) and he is Branded a homophobe by the press in this country.

Sorry Lance I do not hate gay people and nothing happened to me.

You seem to be new here – I have been posting on this board for years now about the bias and favoritism of the media toward some people and the hatred they show to others(Remember the 3 Duke Lacrosse players?)

I am sorry you have read my comments the wrong way – I just want everybody to be given a fair shot.

    • ck says:

Andrea: Don’t think you owe anyone an explanation as it is blatantly obvious due to the double standards of the NFL…HYPOCRITES!!! Talk about reverse discrimination and so much for “FREEDOM OF SPEECH!”
Like someone stated: “God did not make Adam & Steve…”

  3. ck says:

Watch out Buzzy…due to the above you might get an avalanche of not so pleasant comments!:)

    • KingSolomon says:

SIMPLE SOLUTION….JUST BLOCK PEOPLE LIKE LANCE FROM COMMENTING. ITS NOT AN ISSUE OF HIS FREE SPEECH RIGHTS. THIS IS NOT THE PUBLIC SQUARE. THIS IS A SITE DEVOTED TO TIM TEBOW AND HIS FANS.

  4. andrea says:

Thanks for the support CK and KingSolomon !!!

If Lance would have read the article written by the sportswriter he would have figured it out.

The media circus surrounding Sam is a good thing. But the media circus surrounding Tebow is a bad thing – therefore Tebow should not be allowed to play football.

The only ones focusing on Sam’s lifestyle is the mainstream media.

I have been following football since the late 1960’s and this is the first time in almost 60 years the mainstream media is fixated on who is on the PRACTICE SQUAD !!!!

    Beam me up Scotty.

  5. shaztah says:

Check this out Buzzy, All I can say is WOW! This is the most complete and honest (and long) article I have ever read!

    https://medium.com/@imaliveoutthere/why-no-one-in-the-nfl-wants-tim-tebow-26d93b674ab5

This guy actually contacted all 32 teams (owners) and asked the question “why do you not want Tim Tebow on your team?”.
Buzzy Says Bad Link try to fix it i tryed could not find the link

  6. ck says:

Steve Matoren nailed it…GO TEBOW B/C YOU ARE A WINNER AS A PRO QB AND NO COMPARISON TO ALL THE PRESENT/PAST FAILURES WHO CAN’T WIN IN THAT POSITION!!!! WHAT A SHAM THE NFL HAS BEEN AND AGREE W/POST B/C WHO WANTS TO WATCH A LEAGUE THAT IS A FARCE IN THAT IT CONTINUES TO NOT DEAL FAIRLY AT ALL!!! NOTE: MAIMING PLAYERS PLUS CONCUSSIONS W/BRAIN INJURIES ETC.!!!
    ABSOLUTE GREED!!!:(

  7. Bubbaelvis says:

Great article by Steve Matoren. I really liked the completions that go for TD’s stat. He is right. A QB can have a great completion rate by being super conservative and never taking shots down the field. It is possible to have a 100% completion percentage and not throw a single TD. Who cares in the long run that a guy went 15 for 15 but didn’t throw a TD or win the game? How about 34 completions out of 49 attempts for a 69% completion rate. That was Peyton Manning getting blown out in the Superbowl. I’ll take the 47% and the win any day. Tebow played with such raw courage. I miss seeing him play.

    • ck says:

Bubbaelvis: Can still see the look on PM when he actually did FAIL ON A HUGE NATIONAL STAGE IN THE NFL AT THE SB NO LESS!! CLASSIC!!! They don’t call him “one and done” for nothing!:) Time to sell some more pizza…hmmmmmmmm!
Looks like payback to me for what was done to T2 and wouldn’t doubt it!

  8. steftebowfan says:

Very true! Teams and media have done alot of manipulating stats and spinning the story so that it seems that Tebow is terrible and should not play. But for those of us who have actually watched him and other qbs play, we can see how great he is and can tell the difference between Tebow and Romo, Cutler, or Orton!
The problem lies in perception. There are millions who really have not seen Tim play to witness his genius. He has great instincts and reactions and plays best when not over thinking it but just following his natural instincts. He can scramble, grab balls hiked awkward by center, throw out of the pocket, and reacts to protect yardage and the ball. he also makes BIG plays and may have a few no yardage plays then plant one out for the touchdown. His unpredictability is his asset. He is not protocol and that is what makes him special, In addition, he such a powerful and positive force on the field. He rallies the troops and makes them feel anything is possible.

I argue on twitter daily with misinformed anti Tebow people who insult him and put his fans down. I rebut and support my postition and then when I ask “Have you even watched Tebow play?” Most say No!! They are just reading in the media so they believe it! After arguing our point that Tebow is great, more than half change their mind and admit, they like him and agree I have some good points

So to me, it is worth the fight to keep getting the word out there to change perception. Many are starting to wonder if what is happening to Tebow is even legal! Slander some say and it is.

There is a media force that is systematically trying to destroy and thwart Tebows career and ability to influence and give a great witness to God.

It seems to be working at times but the story is not over YET!

  9. andrea says:

Media reports saying the NFL office called various teams to see if they would place Sam on their practice squads.

Looks like affirmative action to me.

I would boycott the NFL but I started boycotting the NFL last year even before I heard of the gay clown.

Must be great news to the players fighting to get a space on the practice squad that Roger Goodell is reserving a space for a gay guy even though he has no talent to get a job based on his abilities.

    • ck says:

Andrea: Hard to imagine the absolute bias towards one versus another and definitely NOT FAIR!!! As far as boycotting goes, agree totally and did the same thing you have done…GOODELL SHOULD BE ASHAMED AND POLITICING AT THAT!!:( GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
