Tim Tebow coming to Gainesville for SEC Network launch

Tebow will interview Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel during visit

Tim Tebow will return to Gainesville Thursday to celebrate his 27th birthday as a member of a new team: the SEC Network.

The Gators’ legend and two-time national champion will be in town for the 6 p.m. launch of the new, ESPN-run network, joining Joe Tessitore to report live from the UF campus.

All told, the premiere night will feature 21 anchors, reporters and analysts in studio and reporting live from campuses.

Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, will be an analyst on SEC Nation, a traveling pregame show similar to ESPN’s College Game Day yet exclusively at SEC schools.

Tebow will be in Columbia, S.C., on Aug. 28 when Texas A&M visits the Gamecocks in the SEC opener. Tebow will return to Gainesville for Kentucky Sept. 13 visit to the Swamp to face the Gators.

That is, unless Tebow has something more pressing to do. The Jacksonville area native said last week he continues to prepare six days a week for another shot as an NFL quarterback.

I will be doing interviews across the street from the campus until 5PM so I will be there. I am taking my gator gear and changing and also getting my grandson and taking him too (also in gator gear):) So excited!
