Tim Tebow visits Somerset Christian School

Updated: Tue 11:59 PM, May 06, 2014

SOMERSET, Ky. (WYMT)- Heisman trophy winner and two time national champion Tim Tebow spent more than a half hour talking with students at Somerset Christian School. During the surprise visit, Tebow answered a few questions about his career at Florida and stint in the NFL. His main talking point though was his faith in God. He told students being a Christian is more important than anything he accomplished on the field.

He said, ”I think you just try to create a brighter day. Share some stories. Share a little bit about what God has done in my life and obviously some people wanna hear about football. You know you just try to uplift people and always when I come to an event like this I try to bring a good spirit and uplift people but they always uplift me more than I can them and so it’s just a blessing to be here.”

Tebow will speak tonight at the nearby Center for Rural Development as part of a fundraiser for the school. While he isn’t currently playing for an NFL team, he is contributing as a broadcaster to ESPN.
