SportsDayDFW.com columnist Kevin Sherrington hosted a chat Wednesday to talk all things sports. Here are some of the highlights:

Question: I would like your opinion of Brandon Weeden. Could he be counted on if Romo were injured? I think he could be with this offense around him.

Sherrington: I think he would be an adequate back-up. But let’s face it: Any time you get down to your back-up QB, you’re in trouble. There are only a handful of stories in the history of the league — Earl Morrall, for example, who died last month — of back-ups coming in and leading the team deep into the playoffs. That’s why the Cowboys are willing to roll the dice with Romo and why they haven’t developed QBs. It’s not a good excuse, but it’s part of the reason.

Question: I have been reading articles on the work Tim Tebow has been doing on his mechanics. The reviews seem to be very good. Would it hurt the Cowboys to take a look?

Sherrington: Tebow works very hard on his mechanics and always has. He’s just not a passer. For all the talk about size with QBs, you can get around a QB who’s short. You can roll him out. But a QB who is basically inaccurate is a death knell. Nothing to do for that. That’s what killed Vince Young’s career. The windows are just too tight in the NFL to have a QB who can’t hit them.

I agree with you both, what BS! Tebow could help so many sub par teams out there right now, tired of all the bull crap writers out there, trying to hitch their names to Tebow, even when they bash him.

Hi Tawk. In my opinion, Tebow could help every team, because he’d be the most successful quarterback ever. It’s why I continue to pay attention even after all this time.

Hi Sage, I agree with you. Tim brings so much to a team, it’s a shame one has not signed him yet, I am keeping fingers crossed that soon he will hear something positive! Go TEBOW!

          Bless everyone on this site!
