Former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow is slated to be in Mississippi on Tuesday to help CJ Stewart Foundation officials raise funds toward its mission of inspiring the next generation to overcome life obstacles through faith-based practices.

According to the Clarion Ledger, Tebow’s appearance is directly geared toward aiding Down Range, the foundation’s primary youth foundation, raise funds for its sports and outdoors programs.

The foundation was the original brainchild of CJ Stewart, a combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient. The Ledger adds the organization’s website states its mission is “to use life experiences to inspire the next generation to overcome the obstacles and challenges they face by building character and developing faith through discipleship.”

Down Range is further described as an outdoor adventure camp designed to help youth develop character traits and life skills through overcoming challenges. “We want Down Range to be a place where youth can learn their value as individuals and know they are loved,” the website adds. “To learn they can be successful not for any other reason, but because of the God who loves them.”

The Florida Gators won two national championships with Tebow on the roster, but still the four-year NFL veteran perhaps remains best known for his christian values and disciplined nature.

Now an NFL free agent, Tebow has recently vowed to resurrect his NFL career and get back to the form that aided him in posting his best pro season with Denver in 2011 when he passed for 1,729 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Will Tim Tebow ever play in the NFL again? “Tell us @SportsWN

Glad to hear about this type of outreach.

Tebow’s not your typical N.F.L. player coaches and GM’s support. For example – that thug Ray Rice. Looks like Rice hung around Suggs and Lewis too long. Great role models the N.F.L. supports.

You can’t tell the Baltimore Ravens players apart unless you look at their rap sheets.

Andrea: You have a point there and would have to agree with you on all of that!:) He deserves better than what has transpired. Guess all of us die hard fans know that he will eventually get his dream no matter what b/c he has DIVINE FAVOR AND THAT IS WHAT MATTERS INSTEAD OF NEGATIVE NON EXPERT OPINIONS!!!

(P.S. Missed all and glad to finally have the computer fixed.)
