In the wake of the news about Tony Romo’s possible season-ending back injury, Tim Tebow’s name was bound to surface.

Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett would not confirm an ESPN.com report that Romo is out for the season with a herniated disc, but he did say during his Monday news conference that the Cowboys will explore signing another quarterback.

The Cowboys had only two quarterbacks available for their game last Sunday against the Washington Redskins, Romo and backup Kyle Orton.

Orton is expected to start if Romo cannot overcome an injury that recurred in the Cowboys’ 24-23 victory that salvaged their 2013 season.

The Dallas Morning News’ Cowboys’ Blog copied a list of free-agent quarterbacks available as of Dec. 19, and lo and behold, the eighth name on the list is that of Tebow.

The former Heisman Trophy winner has yet to land a job after being cut by the New England Patriots during training camp back in August. Tebow had indicated that he had no interest playing in any other football leagues as a means to get back into the NFL.

Tebow has played previously with Orton with the Denver Broncos. In fact, Tebow replaced Orton as starter in 2011 and lead the Broncos to a first-round playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner told TMZ Sports that Tebow needed to find another league to have any hopes of returning to the NFL.

As of now, the Dallas Morning News is reporting that free agents David Carr, John Skelton and Tyler Thigpen will visit the team.

Carr was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 NFL draft. The New York Giants cut him during their preseason camp.

Skelton was with the Tennessee Titans until last week, when he also was cut. He started 17 games over a three-year span with the Arizona Cardinals.

Thigpen last played in 2012 with the Buffalo Bills. He appeared in four games for the Bills. Thigpen started 11 games for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008, going 1-10.

Why is the tebow to dallas starting up when no team is taking him this season or until he has changed his skill set. It’s not gonna happen and at backup his fans and the media annoy teams about him which prevents him from being backup.
He also doesn’t know the dallas offense and they aren’t gonna change it all for next week or the playoffs if they make it at this point in the season. The media knows this isn’t gonna happen.
