Tim Tebow mum on NFL future during speaking engagement

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Eleven days after he was cut by the New York Jets, Tim Tebow’s future plans remain up in the air.

Since his release, Tebow has not spoken publicly about the dismissal or what his next move will be. Does he feel jilted by the Jets? Does he have any other NFL prospects? Would he consider the Canadian Football League?

Tebow didn’t offer any insight Thursday night during a roughly hour-long keynote address before a crowd of about 3,000 at Lake Michigan College. The lecture was part of the Economic Club of Southwest Michigan’s annual speaker series, and Tebow had been booked last summer, when he was still an active NFL player.

Tebow accepted no questions from the press at the event, and was quickly whisked out a back door by police escort afterward.

Instead of discussing the past two weeks or his future, the 25-year-old, wearing a dark suit and purple tie, sat on stage and engaged in an easygoing exchange with a moderator. Tebow spoke of his intensely competitive nature, his Christian faith, his love of family, and his record-setting high school and college careers. He only briefly touched upon his rookie season with the Denver Broncos, when he led the team to an improbable playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

But he said nothing about the Jets.

The closest Tebow came to shedding light on what he might do next was when he repeated one of his favorite sayings: “I don’t know what the future holds, but at the end of the day I know who holds my future.”

Duh spider Timmy was not in his rookie year, but he had only played in two and half games the year before! With no training camp his rookie year was the year of the lock out!

You know Tim has stayed out of the spotlight and when he does people like you hammer him with why doesn’t he answer more questions. Why so the biased media and sport analyst can put their hateful spin on anything he says?

Why do you continually haunt this site? You don’t like Tebow or support him in anyway. Are you just here to aggravate us all?

If you did not listen before this site is here to support Tebow supports and to support each other. It is not here to tear Tim a part or make fun of him! I along with many others are getting tired of this.

Why don’t you go to the many sites that bash Tebow continually?

That’s right, Spider. Tebow gets as many rookie seasons as he needs until he gets his two weeks in camp. 3 games of experience followed by another 13 games of experience just isn’t fair until he gets his 10 days or so of training cap with starters.

Really, Thawk? Dude gets to see the game at full speed 16 times and you are pointing at a couple weeks worth of “practices” prior to preseason? What, the FOUR MONTHS worth of games and weekly game plans aren’t enough to get a feel for the starters?

If you can’t get it in 4 months worth of games, I’m guessing a couple weeks of camp (IF THAT) won’t make a lot of difference.

So Thrawn and by the way my username is tawk, all the other quarterbacks in the league right now get these training camps and you continually hear especially with young quarterbacks that they need these camps. But I guess like everything else in the NFL Tebow is not allowed these same growing and learning chances.
