Glad you found that terrific Browns link, Buzzy. Nice at least to hear some friendly words from Lombardi.

I’ve said it before, by the way, Brandon Weeden is very cool.

  2. tawk2 says:

Sage I like Brandon Weeden I just don’t think he is a franchise quarterback, I feel Tim could do great things on the Browns if only given the chance. But didn’t Lombardi not like Tim in the beginning?

    • kim says:

tawk2 ,that would be great trying not to get hopes up ,I found roger goodells email but my letter about how the annocers were about bashing tim tebow ,opions are fine but I think they have crossed the line with what meril hoge said about tim also they should not cut players down that would be same as saying tim is is a Christian just like giving somebody a hard about their sexuality and that’s not right but anyway tried to send that letter to roger goodell atroger goodell2@nfl.netbut it wont go throw it says needs a name and domain but that wasit for theemail do see what might be wrong with that address.

      • tawk2 says:

Kim I agree the sports media’s bashing of Tim has gone to a new high. The fact that they keep telling teams that the circus will come with Tim and don’t want him is beyond belief. When in fact the sports media is the circus! Anything they can say to demean him, it seems like there should be something Roger Goodell could do. They are literally finishing Tim’s career off right in front of our eyes, with their hateful comments and BS comments. It really makes one angry.

  3. The Mascot Army says:

Lombardi has been a Tebow fan since before the Jets. Weeden might be ok, but I think Tebow would be amazing on the Browns, and tebow is younger.

    • tawk2 says:

I read what Lombardi said before the Tim was drafted he truly seemed impressed with Tim. I wonder if he has the guts and courage to bring Tim aboard and go all in with him. In his interview he said that Tim is the future of the NFL and a coach or gm or owner who could see this would not be sorry. Now we will just have to wait and see if he means what he said and will have the courage to call Tim.

I also seen that Lombardi is not sold on Brandon Weeden, so I know to soon to get hopes up to much. We will all have to wait and see.

  4. tawk2 says:

Oh by the way did you see Ohmaha Beef team I believe that is their name offered Tim a job to play quarterback for $75.00 a game! Wow how low will some go to make Tim look bad. Very insulting.

    • The Mascot Army says:

That was terrible, and ESPN put it up as a tease. Jerks. How anybody ever claims ESPN is pro Tebow, I’ll never know. NFL network is much more fair-minded.

      • Thrawn says:

ESPN was very pro Tebow much of the last 3 years. What they loved wasn’t Tebow though, they loved the debate. It drove the ratings through the roof. He had been their meal ticket since his college days. They even spent a day celebrating his birthday when you couldn’t go 10 minutes without hearing about it.

but the press always has their finger in the air measuring and calculating which way the wind is blowing, and it seems people are lining up everyhwere to kick Tebow’s @__. So naturally the media is following suit. Checked out ESPN and they are all giggling at this like a bunch of school girls.

…and that alone probably makes it twice as hard to catch on with another team than it already was. I mean, who wants THAT kind of PR?

Even I am feeling sorry for him with all the piling on. That generally happens when the media builds you up like that and then tears you down afterward. He was put or a REALLY high pedestal with all the big talk about him. I mean, it is one thing for a bunch of bloggers to debate and pick fights about Tebow. It is what random internet hacks like us do to pass the time. It just seems wrong to have the networks doing the same with all the piling on. If they’re following suit to do what we do…. then how about paying US to take their jobs?

That Omaha Beef thing has a lot of people in an uproar too…

        • The Mascot Army says:

Fair comment, but I disagree that ESPN was pro tebow. I’ll agree they were over the top on tebow coverage, but they have always had a negative slant since he finished college. Their coverage did become a little more even handed near the end of his winning streak, but that was finger in the air stuff, and only lasted a few weeks. their default position is negative. it used to make me sick watching commentary after his games that I ended up watching nfl network exclusively for nfl coverage.
You hit the nail on the head with the giggling schoolgirls bit. gossipy too, like schlereth earlier this year.

          • tawk2 says:

You are right ESPN always had a way of bashing Tim and still do! Most of the sports analyst have never supported Tim. I see Jerry Jones came out and let everyone know that Kyle Orton is his backup and Tim is not wanted there.

The media needs to just shut up for a while and let Tim visit teams if possible and show them what he’s got. I am so tired of all the negative articles and comments!

I have never seen a player run out of a sport, that has proven he can win in reg season and in the playoffs. What a bunch of BS this is!

          • The Mascot Army says:

The PTI guys arent as bad as the rest of them.

      • tawk2 says:

Yes I notice ESPN NFL that used to have all Tebow related stories listed on his page are all gone now. But ESPN attacks Tim on tv anyway they can.

Such shame to treat Tim this way, it really upsets me.

I am holding out hope Tim will find a team, but I fear the sports media are bashing Tim even more and telling teams they don’t want the circus, when in reality the sports media is the circus.

    • jason says:

I got upset over seeing that. Its a complete insult. Disagree with his ability and so on is fine, that’s the fun part of sports. The media and everyone around is trying to cash in just to get some play, those for him and against him are both guilty of this and sadly its the fans that drive it by feeding the monster. Its of no benefit at all to tim and does absolutely nothing but harm his chances of getting another chance.

  5. Sage says:

Good link from Brandi. Jets players knew Sanchez couldn’t loose.

I think Brandi is also on the right track when she says the NFL is afraid of fans taking over. She also cites the rules prohibiting any team but the Packers from being owned by metro.

    http://www.metro.us/newyork/sports/2013/04/30/source-tebow-couldnt-get-a-fair-shot-with-jets/

    • tawk2 says:

Wow Sage great article, this team mate pretty much said everything that I expected was going on last year. Then you have people say Tim was not sabatoged! This information coming from an offensive lineman wow is all I can say. I always said the reason they would not play Tim at quarterback last year was because of fear he would out play Sanchez, now my thoughts I find out were true.

The Jets literally ruined Tim’s career, and then put out all those lies last season about Tim as well. The Jets deserve never to win a game again much less a super bowl. How low can you go, I guess we have seen how low with the Jets.

      Thanks again for posting sage.

      • Sage says:

To support their feeble arguments, Tebow detractors claim as Exhibit # 1 that Tebow must suck because look at all the coaches who won’t play him.

I see with my own eyes, instead of through the imaginary eyes of any coach. But these detractors are also naive or willfully blind to the number and complexity of competing motivations that coaches have. Poor students of human nature, these detractors.

        • ck says:

Obviously, they are more than a little intimidated b/c they know when T2 finally gets on a team that deserves him, they will be EATING THEIR WORDS!!! ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY…ALL IT TAKES IS ONE TEAM TO BELIEVE!!! BESIDES T2 WILL USE THIS TO MAKE HIMSELF BETTER AND THEY WILL BE ON THE DOWNHILL SLIDE LOOKING UP AT A TRUE WINNER…TEBOW!!!

      • ck says:

tawk2: Remember, the old adage: “YOU CAN’T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN!” THEY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO SUBDUE T2 OR HIS LEGIONS OF FANS!!!
        GO TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • tisa says:

This guy is not the only Jets player that has said the same thing. We get faulted by the non-Tebow people for believing that Rex was afraid to play Tebow but I didn’t make it up on my own. I read that there was a growing confidence in Tebow from the players and some coaches since he returned to camp this spring. So, Idzik got rid of him to nip it in the bud. The spector of that is what is going to haunt the Jets when Sanchez starts to struggle and Geno starts to throw balls in the stands and the Jets end the season 4 and 12. You can send T away, but if players and coordinators saw untapped potential, that belief is not going to go away, especially if that potential gets unleashed on them.

      • tawk2 says:

Yes Tisa I too believe the Jets gm got rid of Tim to nip in the bud anyone supporting him to start in the locker room. These gm’s really amaze me how they want their own everything when they come to a team. Even if a team already has talented players or coaches, they want to change everything anyways! It not about winning anymore it’s about ego’s.

My hubby says he really does not think that Lombardi likes Tim and won’t bring him to Cleveland, I know at one when Tim was playing in Denver I heard him say negative things about Tim. But who knows maybe he has seen the light. I do know that he liked him in the draft. Sorry I am off subject.

It is so clear now that Rex and company did everything they could to keep Tebow from succeeding last year. Now you have players coming out and telling what was really happening in the locker room and on the sidelines and field.

Tim never had a chance to compete, because the starting job was always Sanchez’s no matter what or how awful he played.

    • The Mascot Army says:

Yeah, it’s amazing, and it puts to shame the notion that of course coaches would start anybody they thought could help them win. Not so much when they just endorsed a giant contract for a bum.

  6. tawk2 says:

Hey I found a great article that all Tebow fans should read here is the link. Finally an article that speaks the truth!

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michael-tomaso/nfl-teams-shouldnt-punish_b_3178940.html?utm_hp_ref=tim-tebow

  7. The Mascot Army says:

You know what is also pretty bad? The media is going out and getting as many people on the record saying they wont consider Tebow, meaning they will be more reluctant to consider him in the future because they had already spoken and changing their minds would look bad.
    Nasty.

  8. SO GLAD TEBOW IS AWAY
FROM THE JET JERKS, HOPE THEY DON’T WIN A GAME ALL SEASON
HOPE TEBOW GETS ON A DECENT TEAM AND HE WILL BE A WINNER.
GO TEBOW MANY ARE FOR YOU.

  9. ck says:

All I can say is there is going to be plenty of egg on ALL their faces for EVERYONE to see…TEBOW IS GOING TO COME OUT OF THIS A WINNER B/C WE KNOW WHO IS ON HIS SIDE AND IF “GOD IS FOR YOU THEN WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU!” GBPT2/GO TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
