Can The A-11 Football League Restore Some Clarity To Pro Football?

This has been a rather odd time for Professional Football Fans. Even just going back a couple years we have a stand-off between the NFL and NFL Players. We have the first serious word of Lawsuits against the League by Former NFL Players. We have “Family Man” Sam Hurd busted for looking like he was trying to start a different kind of “Family”; along with the reports that dozens of current NFL Players were Sam’s customers for Pot & cocaine. The NFL says “not to worry”. Translation: “We’re putting our might to work on making sure this story dies faster than ‘Playmakers’ did when we told ESPN it made us look bad.”

We had Junior Seau die and then the bizarro fight for his brain. And Jovan Belcher killing himself in front of his Coach & GM.

We had a rushed Collective Bargaining Agreement that clearly is the Mother of All Bad CBAs followed by a hurried Off-Season. Little did the League realize then that we’d already seen the last of real Off-Seasons. The interest the NFL has in actually putting quality Football on the Field can be found in the insane Off-Season and Practice Schedules in the CBA AND that there were still NFL Head Coaches who didn’t even realize they’re so ridiculously limited that it’s nigh impossible to put a properly prepared Team on the Field when the Season starts until a few weeks after Year Two of the Agreement. This list of Head Coaches who failed so publicly in their duties includes one in New York who said today he’d like to keep his job another 20 years. That’s 5 or 10 more “I’d rather Win an Election than have a Winning Season” comments from his Boss…depending on his interest in Mid-Terms. Clearly he had little of that in College, if his empty looks when the subject of Football comes up in a Jets Press Conference is any indication. Fortunately for Woody, it’s the Jets. So that subject is usually pretty rare.

And we have The Commish who received a $22.3 Million Bonus for that Horrid CBA and for the Television Contracts that prompted it. So cock-sure were the 280 Park Ave Alley Cats, with their new TV Bonanza in hand and no provision that required them to actually Play games to get paid when they sent their charges in to bitch slap the Players Union. They forgot one little detail. They royally pissed off their biggest customers…the Television Networks. OOPS! And we get a quickly carved together agreement that flat-out nearly guarantees gawdawful Football.

But who cares? There’s lots of money for everyone. Just screw the Networks and the Fans and everything gonna be alright.

Except everything isn’t alright. For the first and only time in the history of these Network/League Negotiations, an individual Player was a single line-item in the discussions. That Player’s name is Timothy Tebow. So important was and is Tim Tebow to the Networks that he’s dubbed the $6 Billion Man by some Media people for the estimate on the additional revenue the NFL pocketed from them just because Tebow was an NFL Player.

And that was BEFORE he became The Most Popular Athlete in the World. Most popular Male, actually. And the man 5 times as many Americans would like to have Thanksgiving Dinner with over the President of the United States. Here in Florida, he was just named a “Great Floridian”, with the award presented by the Florida Governor many in the FL Republican Party hope Tim Tebow will run against and defeat in the primary next year. Tim has given no indication he has any interest whatsoever.

Nor have we heard back on whether he’s taking The Vatican up on its request to help Transform Professional Sports Worldwide. Will he help Transform Professional Football in the United States with the A-11 Football League? We have no word yet on that either.

The A-11 sees what the NFL apparently doesn’t. Fans matter. The Dolphins have said what other NFL Teams are thinking, yet have been reticent to admit. Tim Tebow is “Too Popular to Sign.” Their need to feel in complete Control matters more to NFL Team Execs and Coaches than the Fans do. Even when it means marginalizing a Player who’s had great success when given the chance. The NFL’s Fear Factor now is biting them.

The National Football League has become a complete mess. They can’t shoot straight and can’t get out of their own way. Tickets to NFL Games in numerous cities can’t even be given away with a free car wash coupon. The NBC Sports NFL Arrests Clock has been spinning off the wall lately.

Tim Tebow and his Fans aren’t appreciated in the NFL. Really, that’s fine. The League isn’t worthy of them anyway and hasn’t been in years.

Can the A-11 restore some sanity…some clarity; maybe even actually some Football into Football? Let’s hope so. It truly needs it. Between maddening Conference Re-Alignments and Penn State, College Football isn’t the sanctuary it once was. And the NFL has become the least Fan-Friendly League in Professional Sports in the US. Not to mention the League and the Players outright hate and distrust each other. It’s bad and it’s fixin’ to get alot worse.

Time for Tim Tebow and any Football Player with a brain in his head and some character & courage to bolt…IF they have some place good to Play. ALOT of people are starting to hope the A-11 is that place.

I realize they’re under tremendous pressure right now. Hopefully they realize that an opportunity like this will likely NEVER take place again. Anyone doubt that? The Most Popular Athlete in the World has ONLY been an NFL Player once in History…that is Tim Tebow. This isn’t going to happen again. This is the one and only shot. Make it work.

The League can hit hurdles and take lumps along the way. There is absolutely no need to be concerned about everything going smoothly. It won’t anyway. It’s how the A-11 continues to forge ahead when things don’t go smoothly that will tell what kind of League it is. But landing Tim Tebow is paramount. Whatever it takes. No other item is even a close 2nd.

I’m not 100 percent sure I understand it right, but apparently A11FB plans to use a squad of players who play both offense and defense. That is, they will innovate away from the modern trend of specialization.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Who doesn’t admire the old school guys who played the whole game? While they’re at it, I hope they do away with not-so-instant replay.

If the NFL continues to cold-shoulder Tim for the next several months than A11FB might be very well be the best thing for him.

Also: Anyone know how good his baseball skills are? I’ve heard they’re decent. He could play single-A ball and I’d become a big fan. Eventually he’d probably hit .332 in MLB and make clutch plays in the 9th.

    • The Mascot Army says:

      nah, he’d bat 318 😉
      Buzzy says: He meant 316

Sage I believe if I am not wrong but Tim also can play baseball as well, I think he chose football over baseball. I believe Tim talked about it in his book. I think from what I read he was really great!

Has anyone heard anything on twitter or elsewhere of where Tim possibly can be? Hopefully no news is good news. Praying so hard that things will work out.

The only thing different is they eliminated the NFL instituted in 1973 that requires jersey numbers to comply with specific positions. It may be a symbolic change. But it’s sort of telling in how they think Football should be Played.

The Patriots move their Tight Ends around. The Jets TALKED about having Tebow all over the field at any time. They just never did it…probably because Tony Sparano is just a really bad Offensive Coordinator. I’ve always felt that Tim is Bobby Layne in a Linebacker’s body. The Jets more or less were presenting him like a modern Paul Hornung…they just didn’t know how to implement or didn’t really want to.

Certainly there might be some Players who Play on Offense, Defense, maybe Special Teams. They seem to be hoping to get back to Old School Football. Tim was #19 of the 20 Players in the NFL who ESPN called their All Era Team…NFL Players who could Play in any Era of the League. THAT seems to be precisely the type of League A-11 Founders are trying to build.

Their CEO ran the Rose Bowl and Rose Bowl parade…”The Granddaddy of them all”, as they say. If that’s an indication.

I don’t know how true this is but I found this story here is the link,32289/

I feel so bad for Tim, he looks in this picture so down, I pray he knows how many are supporting and praying for him. Anyways just came across this. Tim we believe never forget that! GO TEBOW!!!

    BuzzySays : Just fiction

Thanks tisa for letting me know about his site. I just came across it this morning and wanted someone else’s take on it. Thanks again.

Hey, guys, if it were true that Timmy was sitting in the stadium, he wouldn’t be there long. As soon as Coach Muschamp found out he was there, he would tell Jeremy Foley and Pres. Machen and they would head over there. along with all the athletes. When it got around campus he was there, classes would empty and Gators would all converge on the stadium. The band director would bring the band (Timmy loved the band when he was at Uf.) When it got around G’ville people would leave work and kids would leave school to go to the stadium. Pretty soon it would turn into one big Tebow Love Fest full of hugs, encouragement and prayer. Just think about it. You know I’m right. What ever Timmy is going through right now, he is not alone, not by along shot!

The A-11 isn’t kidding. This is from the personal blog today of one of the Co-Founders.

They have made it clear they will do whatever it takes to sign Tim and have him be the Poster Boy for what they think a Football League is supposed to be about. They won’t say they’re coming after the NFL…But…think when the USFL was digging at the NFL’s heels when Trump pulled the plug thinking he could coerce them into selling him an NFL Franchise. These guys don’t have any Donald Trumps. They’re all serious football People.

    • Sage says:

I did enjoy the USFL a lot until Trump ruined it with his bidding war.

      • Brandi says:

They are already positioning themselves as the Spring League versus the Fall league with what they think will be better Football. They are looking for Football’s Decathletes…clearly they want more Athletic Players than some the NFL has. There’s GOING to be a fight for Players…especially as the NFL is adopting some of the Option Offenses.

I can see them quickly saying to QBs…Do you want to be in a few Special Packages in the NFL or Start here? They will almost certainly be competing against them for some of the more versatile, athletic Players.

      • Brandi says:

Oh…but I don’t see them getting into a bidding war against the NFL other than perhaps a few special Players they want. Like Tim. They’ve been very clear. They don’t care what it takes or costs. He’s the Number One Player they want.

        • Sage says:

Sign him! The NFL has already insulted Tebow pretty severely by letting him clear waivers and languish all week. It means there is only tepid interest in him at most. Screw ’em.

          • Brandi says:

That’s what they’re working on doing. We had this sort of conversation here before…If Tim’s Fans left the NFL for a Competitive League, would it be able to match the NFL? Well, we may very well be right there.

But, in my opinion, it won’t just be Tebow’s die-hard Supporters who depart the NFL. It will include those who have been frustrated, even disgusted with the NFL for years because it’s turned into a League of Thugs. There will be those who have felt for years that the NFL chases families away. It will include College Football Fans who just really haven’t been all that keen on the NFL, but occasionally watch.

At least some of these people. The A-11 is clearly position this as a choice…what do you like better Football Fans? The NFL’s style of Play and way of doing business? Or something else?

  4. tisa says:

Brandi, while I think Timmy will one day run for office in Florida, it won’t be any time soon. As much as we Floridians love Timmy, he is going to have to get some maturity and experience before he will be a serious candidate.

Logic, Truth, and a Candid Reality Check!!

The only significant element of the advertised “Polarizing of Tim Tebow”->
that could cause such an almost conspiratorial blanket affect of Hate on TT,
is his consistent unashamed BOLD expression of his Faith in his Lord and Saviour “Jesus Christ”.

All the continual negative Hate tirads consistently eminating – from so many diverse sources having nothing close to being common to then – that and that alone, although they try to couche it with other variables that were previously common to many players – who had minimal attacks on them and No Real Hate continually dumped upon them from the NFL to the News Media.

Even to the extreme example of the Late Night TV comedian that said if he had the choice between shooting Ben Liden or Tim Tebow in the head, he would have difficulty deciding which one to kill.??

In reality this is really an all out campaign of EVIL that is sourced right out of the PIT OF HELL and is directly related to Spiritual Warfare.

Those of us that are Christians Should Take a Stand, and if this Garbage continues, and Tim Tebow is NOT given a fair chance this SEASON:

Consider this Process -> How about SOME REAL..> Truth and JUSTICE?
For: Ignorance is not always bliss..
    And: Choices do have Consequences..>
Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

It is NOT in Tim Tebow’s hands, BUT know it – Justice will Prevail!

(They do understand the loss of $$)

    – Many of
US have had enough, of the disparity of treatment that the Perferts, Murderers, Drug addicts, and other Convicted Criminals of NFL PLAYERs get that, many times, seems much more favorable TREATMENT than that the HATE Campaign against Tim Tebow has given him!
Absolutely and Only because of his BOLD,
Un-ashamed STAND FOR JESUS CHRIST. Enough is Enough !!
